"Ridiculous"
Ok, so it is supposed to be funny, but it should still have some believability. Add the fact the narrator is horrid. I've lived in Atlanta and less than 1% of the people I've known from there have accents like that. Certainly not the educated ones.
"Another Great Addition to an Excellent Series"
William Kruger is a tremendously talented author. This book showcases his skill. Presenting both sides of a mystery while maintaining the mystery makes this a book that demands to be read/heard from start to finish. Putting it down even for a short time was next to impossible. Exceptional!
"Am So Happy!"
I am so happy to have discovered this mystery series at Audible. This second book in the series was as much or more interesting than the first. Great characters in a powerful and fascinating story. I look forward to listening to more books from this excellent author.
"All that Whispering"
I really loved everything about this book except the narration. There was so much whispering and since I didn't read the written version I don't know if that was the author's intent, but for me it ruined the experience.
As I said, the story itself was excellent as I expect from Garwood. The characters were fun and well developed.
If the narration doesn't bother you, it's worth your time.
"Totally blew me away!"
After listening to three of her books, I am a solid Tana French fan, but this book was way past amazing. For a mystery to captivate all the way and then leave you completely satisfied even though you are left to make your own decision about the whole story, showcases a fantastic talent and that is Tana French.
Nothing small about Heather O'Neill's performance either.
Both talented people have contributed to what in my opinion is one of the all time best books in my library.
"No kissing, just killing"
This was a fun book though I felt the narrator was a little over the top at times. I did lose count of how many bodies piled up. There were quite a few.
For a western, it was just about right. There was very little sex which is fine, but I would suggest Mr. Rhodes avoids anything even close to sex because his approach is a little hokey.
"I really hated to see it end"
I have one word for this series FANTASTIC!
This book was a perfect finish from one of the best mystery series I have listened to.
Throughout the entire series the characters played perfect parts in really well written stories.
This goes on my list of books to listen to again.
"Strange but interesting mystery"
I confess I bought this book primarily because it was narrated by Simon Prebble. His narrations can make great entertainment from even mediocre stories. This, however was not mediocre. It was in fact a well written mystery with a number of surprising twists.
I recommend it as worth the time and credit.
"Extremely Entertaining"
I have enjoyed several of Ms. Putney's historical romances, and this one did not disappoint. It was rather a unique story line, but she made it work well with interesting and entertaining characters.
Simon Prebble as usual is a great narrator.
"Really Outstanding"
I couldn't turn it off. This book held my interest from start to finish. It is actually stories compounded and each level develops the characters more and more. Once again Mary Jo Putney has created a great love story without overdone sex, but instead with great story telling.
I am not usually that excited about male narators for romance novels, but Mr. Page does a good job.
"Disappointing"
I found it hard to accept the characters in this story. They kept going round and round with unrealistic emotions. He is totally selfish and unwilling to accept responsibility for his mistakes most of the story then suddenly becomes a golden boy. She is a doormat and suddenly becomes a lioness. Unrealistic.
