I couldn't get through this, although I even tried a second time. Maybe I didn't listen long enough? I got through 3 chapters and finally gave up.

Where does Minding Frankie rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I was annoyed by the narrator.. She had a horrible lisp and I found it so annoying. If I hadn't paid for the book and liked Binchey so much I wouldn't have finished it. I didn't love the characters the way I did in some of her other books. Maybe I am just getting bored with this author. She had been one of my favorites but this book is not. I would recommend trying some of her others rather than this one.

How could the performance have been better?

Speech therapy! Seriously, I hated this narrator. Binche's daughter I believe narrated some of her other books and she was far superior.

Why we think it’s a great listen: Got 40 hours to kill? You’ll find the time when you start listening to Lee’s take on Follett’s epic – and widely celebrated – novel of 12th-century England. The Pillars of the Earth tells the story of Philip, prior of Kingsbridge, a devout and resourceful monk driven to build the greatest Gothic cathedral the world has known...of Tom, the mason who becomes his architect - a man divided in his soul...and of the beautiful, elusive Lady Aliena, haunted by a secret shame....

Most Westerners working in Afghanistan spend their time tucked inside a military compound or embassy. Not Deborah Rodriguez. Here, she tells the story of the beauty school she founded in the middle of Kabul and of the vibrant women who were her students. When Rodriguez opened the Kabul Beauty School, she not only empowered her students with a new sense of autonomy but also made some of the closest friends of her life.

I really enjoyed this audiobook. I liked the narrator and acutallyfelt like she was the author and was talking to me. I listen in the car and when I walk for excercise. I couldn't wait to get in the car or excercise so I could here more. I would love to know what happens next.
