A great premise that was, for the most part, very well written. There are some cringe inducing passages (I found myself laughing my head off as well) when the author describes the characters' amorous encounters and there seem to be times when the author is merely 'filling pages' with irrelevant details but overall this is a fun summer read. The only negative is the narrator whom I can only describe as the teacher from Ferris Bueller saying Bueller...Bueller over and over again. Complete monotone except when he tries to do female voices and then he's just down right bad.
This is a good technical listen. Makes you want to think about writing stuff down. Probably not worth a full credit though
This is an excellent book written by one of the titans of literature. The story is good enough but there is so much more to think about here. This is a dense book that I will have to take the time and read on paper just to make sure I've caught everything.
Not for the faint of heart!!
A hilarious story and commentary on small (really small) town american life. The narrators did an excellent job! The story will make you laugh and maybe cry a little as well.
What a great story and great listen! This book had me guessing all the way to the end. Really a great suspense mystery.
This book keeps the story moving and seems to start to set up an end game....maybe? Most of the favourite characters are here some of whom experience quite unusual circumstances. Much from the previous book is expounded on with many new characters being introduced. Great job from the narrator in what surely must be one of the toughest books to voice.
This was an interesting listen as well as a fast moving story. I never landed up caring much for the protagonists though. Not sure why. The narrator was excellent. A good buy especially if you like the 'science' in "Science Fiction'
A great story, a fast moving pace, and great characters all combine for a winning formula. Narrator was particularly good differentiating the characters.
This is pure Le Carre. Subtle, tense, dark, exciting, and most of all plausible. Gets you thinking. And as always completely unsentimental.
A truly wonderful book. You do not need to be a science fiction fan to enjoy this novel. The incredible story, the twists ,and the characters, especially the main one, are amazing. The bonus interview with the author is also a treat and provides excellent insight into the Ender universe. It was also refreshing to have different narrators making this almost like a radio play. One of the truly great buys on Audible!
