poorly read- confusing since the character speaking is not annouunced
introduce characters or at least alternate voices
based on his first book, i was excited to listen to this one. i was quite dissapointed and didn't finish listening due to confusing monotonic recitation of the story
The plot was well done- all the back melodrama of Judy's family, esp her relationship with her mother and aunt was WAY overdone
not a Scottoline
yes, to carefully consider ever listening to another of her books
there were too many subplots and they did not tie together as well as the author thought
the narrator's voice doesn't have a lot of range
uncertain- this is not the first- it worked when he narrated just one or two characters
story line, in general;
no- the main character, India, behaves like a 13 year old in her relationships- immature to the point of annoyance
will not listen to remainder of series
I'd listen to the entire series again! well written, entertaining and well thought out
the whole thing. characters are well developed and consistent throughout. the slightly sarcastic tone enhanced the narrative and well, i laughed myself silly. a few tears too...
no favorite as there was always more
absolutely! after listening to one of the books i bought the rest and listened to them all, forsaking all others loaded on my ipod!!
Listen to this series- and I hope there are more volumes to be written!!
so-so book-- after the first 2 volumes, which were performed in a way that enhanced the story, this is a less enticing follow up. 2 narrators- no. story also seems contrived.
emma- yes; aaron, maybedid not work to have 2 narrators!!!
NO. let it be
I looked forward to this novel and was underwhelmed. almost gave it 2 stars rather than 3
The writing style combined with the fabulous narration created a book that engaged me so much I missed the closing of CVS store I was shopping in!
Heather- real, funny, quirky and with a killer sense of humor
Not only does she provide narration bringing the characters to life, she also has perfect timing on some very funny lines- that might not be so funny if delivered differently
The whole book
This is my first Meg Cabot book- I'm not a Princess Diary fan (way to tween for me) and was delighted to find Meg Cabot to be skilled in the grownup novel world. Thanks Meg!!!
fascinating, compelling, sweet
Josie- protaganist and newly 18 with experience beyond her years yet also innocent
growing up wise yet still new to the world
well narrated, some nail biting moments- all infused with well developed characters you can see and feel. well written- LOVED this book
