"Gives you an idea how Christopher Hitchens thinks"
Absolutely, Christopher Hitchens is a very good writer. His life is very entertaining and tells the story very well.
It gave me a brief insight into his values and how he perceived the world around him. He has an excellent vocabulary and is a great wordsmith.
Yes. However Mr. Hitchens voices seems to fade a bit when he gets excited about the story he is relating to the listener.
I laughed. His stories about his childhood and his trip to Cuba are quite good. If there is a sadness, it is that he is no longer around to write more.
"want to learn about James Garfield, start here."
interesting, informative, revealing
Garfield himself. He was quite an incredible man, whose death could have been prevented. the doctor who cared (it should be 'killed') was a quack. truly a waste of a life.
Alexander Graham Bell.
James Garfield the President we never knew.
"Didn't need to be 4 volumes"
yes and no. the friend would have to really enjoy the civil war.
sadly never made it to the end because the download started to replay the vol 3 in the middle of vol 4.
The narrator performed well considering the length of Grant's memoirs.
I would but it would be hard to keep it between 90 or 120 minutes.
"thought it was going to be better"
The book was ramblings by the author. 'Rage against God' is a poor title, it should be babblings by Peter Hitchens. I got so tired of Mr. Hitchens wandering, I stopped listening.
No
I don't believe another narrator would fare any better.
No
Don't waste a credit on this book.
"a slow start leads to an outstanding listen"
I will admit that it took alittle while to grab me on this one, but once it did, OUTSTANDING! What a life, what an incredible story. It affirms my belief that fiction can never ever compete with someone's real life story. Loved it.
"Interesting"
i recommend listening to this book twice, there is a lot of information and background info about each gentlemen. i would never had classified Marx as an economist but the author presents points worth considering. a good study, you will need some time to digest their theories, at least i did.
"Oh, yes we are..big time"
the topics that Beck hits upon make you realize how close to the edge we are. enjoyed it, worth a listen.
"Founding Faith: the Birth of Religious Freedom"
I enjoyed this audio quite a bit. I felt it provided a balance point of view on the impact Religion had on our Founding Fathers. A very good listen.
