Pat Conroy is without doubt America's favorite storyteller, a writer who portrays the anguished truth of the human heart and the painful secrets of families in richly lyrical prose and unforgettable narratives. Now, in Beach Music, he tells of the dark memories that haunt generations, in a story that spans South Carolina and Rome and reaches back into the unutterable terrors of the Holocaust.

I absolutely loved this book. The author had me from the first chapter and the relationships in the book were at times so touching and others completely hilirous. I had never read any of Pat Conroy's books. I am now a huge fanl.

The anchor of The O'Reilly Factor recounts one of the most dramatic stories in American history—how one gunshot changed the country forever. In the spring of 1865, the bloody saga of America's Civil War finally comes to an end after a series of increasingly harrowing battles. President Abraham Lincoln's generous terms for Robert E. Lee's surrender are devised to fulfill Lincoln's dream of healing a divided nation. But one man and his band of murderous accomplices are not appeased....

This book was at times hard to listen to from shear frustration. I found my self screaming "Get On With It!" And the reader sounded like Betty White but the history of the period the story revealed was magic. Answered some questions I have had for a long time.

"My name is Kvothe. I have stolen princesses back from sleeping barrow kings. I burned down the town of Trebon. I have spent the night with Felurian and left with both my sanity and my life. I was expelled from the University at a younger age than most people are allowed in. I tread paths by moonlight that others fear to speak of during day. I have talked to Gods, loved women, and written songs that make the minstrels weep...."

What's up with the ending?!!! I really enjoyed this book but was shocked when it came to the end. I sincerely hope it doesn't take the author 3 years to write the next book as it did this one.

Ken Follett's World Without End was a global phenomenon, a work of grand historical sweep beloved by millions of readers and acclaimed by critics. Fall of Giants is his magnificent new historical epic. The first novel in The Century Trilogy, it follows the fates of five interrelated families - American, German, Russian, English, and Welsh - as they move through the world-shaking dramas of the First World War, the Russian Revolution, and the struggle for women's suffrage.

At the very beginning I had a little trouble following all the different characters, but it wasn't long before I was completely enthralled. I always loved history but this made it so much more than just dates and places. Great read!!!

The land of Terre d'Ange is a place of unsurpassing beauty and grace. It is said that angels found the land and saw it was good...and the ensuing race that rose from the seed of angels and men live by one simple rule: Love as thou wilt.

This book took some patience but once hooked, I was completely enthralled. The entire serious at times was hard to listen to, as parts are quiet graphic, but always in a good way and unlike so many trilogies, you never felt bogged down with recapping the previous books.
