"Yey for the legend"
Nowdays, a large percentage of distopian books( and young adult books in general) make me want to throw my I pad on the floor and jump on it several times for a good measure, when I read the ending. It goes on- story, action, romance, and at the end they write a cliffhanger so idiotic that you wish you can shoot someone, preferably the author.
This one, however, left me absolutely satisfied. I am one of those people who believe that you can write a great novel without resorting to cliffhangers.
This book contains action, romance, character growth,etc..In my opinion , distopian novel that's actually worth reading. Reader was okay.
"Meh"
The bigger the expectation, the bigger the disappointment
Although many Frost fans would find this one highly satisfying , I found myself getting more and more frustrating as the story went. Laila acted like an idiot first five hours of the story and I knew exactly what was going to happen miles away. Only last couple of hours were a bit less predictable but the story at that point wasn't strong enough to keep me excited or interested. I hope next book will be a lot better. Reader made this book possible to listen, otherwise I would give up after second hour
"Great sci-fi"
It’s been a long time since I listened to a book that made me laugh, bite my nail and wish it wasn’t over at the end. For the longest time I thought my favorite sci-fi writer was Orson Scott Card. Well, Mr Scalzi proudly kicked his ass to a second place . This book is plane old fun. It’s written in a way that all that heavy sci-fi feels natural. As every good novel, it’s mostly about people but there are plenty of weirdo aliens and my favorite part- an asshole. You’ll know what I mean when you read the book. And you should read it because is worth it. Great job Mr. Scalzi, I only wish I discovered you sooner.
"Finally!"
Richelle Mead is very unpredictable writer in a way that I can't tell if her next book is going to be good or bad. Her stories are always interesting and keep me coming back, but the way she writes sometimes makes me want to scream so loud,it reaches her all the way to Seattle. I started this series with big expectations and got a bit disappointed. I admit, I got so frustrated when I finished previous book that The Indigo Spell was going to decide if I will ever buy her books again. I will. This book was well written , interesting and thankfully angst free. I'm looking forward to the next one.
"Wondrous!"
I absolutely loved it! It's funny, entertaining, smart, well written,... Probably my favorite in the edge series. Characters are hilarious. If you like Andrews' book, you will utterly enjoy the edge series.
"No,no and no"
I'm a curious creature. Being curious I sometimes do things that everyone advise against, but I can't help it. Curiosity killed a perfectly healthy credit I could have used for something that deserved it. It's a lesson I won't forget. There are too many things wrong with this book. It would take me long time to write them all up. I already wasted too much time on this crap, I don't wish to continue. Sorry.
"Oh so predictable"
I was very excited to listen to this book since I liked the Legend so much. I wish I can say I enjoyed it. It wasn't a bad book, really. It was just very predictable. An hour into the story I could tell exactly how it's going to end. Everything couple did I guessed long before it happened. The world building and character evolution was probably better in this one but it doesn't matter much if the story is weak. Also, she did in this book what I hate with a passion of thousand suns- a cliffhanger. Admittedly, that was the only thing I didn't predict. Sigh.I will read the next book. I think I know how it will end but I still want to see how they will get to that point. If you decide to buy this one, try not to think too hard and just enjoy the journey. Actually, it would be best to turn off your brain , that way you may not guess where the story is going.
"Too painful to finish"
I usually don't review the books I didn't finish. However, I must this time, because this reader absolutely ruined the book. When I read the first book in the series I thought -okay, reader sucks but the story is not too bad. Romance was kind of looking to be hot and mistery was all right. Then I bought the second book. Reader was even worse this time. You would think that people get better with practice, right? Wrong! I couldn't tell voices apart even when she read male parts, or should I say especially when she read male parts. To make things worse, the couple is dating for months without consuming their relationship. Ph-leese. They are in their twenties, the guy is extra hot FBI agent. I don't know why I got the third book. If I drank, I would think I was wasted. Maybe I ate something bad. Some mushrooms that got mixed with my salad and made me halucinate that this was actually worth a credit. Maybe I just wanted to see if the poor guy is finally going to get laid. After fifteen minutes of torture, I gave up. I suggest you give up too, before the torture starts.
"Meh"
Have you ever been so hungry and decided to buy your favorite meal and then you sit and get that first bite and it's just not what it should be?
I'm disappointed. I'm so used to laugh out loud when reading Ms.Harper's books that this one felt like a cold shover. Don't get me wrong, the story is not bad, it's just boring comparing to her other work and not at all funny . I hope she isn't losing her sense of humor. Reader is great as usual .
"Yawn"
I don't know why I finished this one. Usually I give up when the book is this boring but I guess there was some things that made it okay. Maybe I just wasn't in the mood for another vampire novel. I heard this one was a parody but I found little of it here. Just another teen loves/hates vamps and a very boring plot. I wouldn't recommend it even though reader was good. Sorry , not my cup of tea
