I liked the narration and the story kept me interested. A good look into the WWII era in London and the characters were intriguing.
Wide variety of characters who were unique and believeable.
The characters themselves and how they managed their struggles, with the help of friends and family. The story was detailed, interesting and not predictable. You really get to know the characters.
Easy to listen to and understand.
I really enjoyed this book. It is long, so make sure you have plenty of time to listen.
Good story with interesting and believable characters. The setting in a past time frame and references to historic issues of that time were interesting. I was able to reflect on those times and remember them.
Very good. I liked it and enjoyed listening to the story. It started out somewhat slow but as it progressed and added new characters I got interested.
Good detail about the various characters, their imperfections and how they dealt with them. In the end, it as hope-inspiring.
I enjoyed both characters. The teen boy was probably my favorite and was easier to listen to. I had appreciation for the older character but at times he spoke so quietly that I had a hard time understanding it.
An interesting story with good detail and interesting characters.
I read this book many years ago and remembered liking it, but not the details of the story. I enjoyed listening to the book and getting re-aquainted wtih it.
Comfortable voice to listen to.
The main character.
