From one of my favorite childhood writers, I couldn't bare to finish this story. Dull is all I can offer.
Zahi Hawas makes a splendid History Channel host but his true talent lies in his ability to express concepts and truths for subject matter that he is no doubt passionate about. This book will remain in my library as a fundamental work. Read it.
I read this story 20+ years ago. Recently I was able to re-read (listen) it and I found it as enjoyable as ever. Certainly a classic American Novel and not just a Sci-fi work.
I know many who would disagree but I found this story filled with uninteresting nonsense and the ending was particularly unsatisfying. A shame too, it certanly had promise.
More interesting than the subject matter is the author's peculiar style. I absolutely enjoyed every minute of the reading.
I see why this story has garnered so many awards. Absolutely a "must read". A true classic.
