"Hmmmm"
Could have been more interesting with a different speaker, less monotone. Far too much time & detail on the abbreviations of all the various agencies, like it is an important fact we are to remember?
The premise of the book is excellent, the paranoia of security, privacy and control and how out of control
the body of our overall security is. I certainly don't feel any safer knowing what I just read and would not be surprised if we experienced another catastrophic event. The finger pointing would certainly be interesting and equally disgusting. Have a problem, throw more money at it.
"One of Michael Lewis's best"
I would listen again as there are a lot of interesting detail that I may have missed and / or want to review. The subject is complicated and needs to be fully understood.
The sense of humor and the funny sagas about an issue that is not fundamentally funny, but there are times in life you just have to find the humor in events even though it hurts.
One event that stuck out a little was the fisherman turned Investment banker literally overnight.
Yes I have and he is a fabulous orator and story teller. I will seek out his other narrations.
Yes
This is my third Michael Lewis book and I plan to read them all eventually.
"Excellent insights"
Yes , I would listen again. I listen while driving or walking and there are distractions at times that pull you away from the story. I probably missed some points and did not understand others.
Gave me some insights to Steve Jobs and the why's of the he products he influenced in terms of quality, functionality, aesthetic and purpose.
Tonality and emotion that is impossible to reach from reading.
It mad me laugh and cry.
I learned about the passion, commitment and sacrifice it must take to truly make a difference.
