This book is the first book which actually did help me in my quest for time. If you are looking for a get rich quick type book, this isn't it. If you are looking for more time, this IS DEFINATELY IT!
With that said, there are many examples that he gives of how to have more time in your life, some of which I wouldn't do and many people couldn't do without a huge - I can do this and don't care about anything - attitude. However, much of the advice will work for many people, especially single people and entrepreneurs. Ironically, it is the employed married with children people who NEED the time he is referring to. (Like ME). He gives examples of families who give up everything and take on this lifestyle to take a chance on truly living life. I will say, he inspired me to do such.
His advice is honest, and will work if you truly want it and can muster up the courage. Much of his advice however can be taken in pieces to just make more time in your life and improve the quality of your life, even if you are an employee with a family.
The narrator is a tad annoying and at times seems pompous, but I think that is the way it was written, so I can't really fault him for that.
If you are looking for a different kind of self-help book to improve your life and are serious about doing something, anything, than this is the book for you. Many of real life examples, websites for more information, downloadable worksheets, etc... The author truly has given you all the information with no holding back. This is not one of those books that just give you the basics and your on your own, this is the real full information. You will want the print version for your reference. Of course every life is different so pick and choose where and when to start and then go and live.
The idea was a great one. The implementation was pretty good. The topics discussed were humorous and the writing was entertaining. I am not sure if this is abridged or unabridged but it seems like he left out a lot of the year. I understand he can't put EVERYTHING into the book, but I felt like I was missing something. Throughout the chapters I was entertained and wanting more and for it to build and hit a climax. It never really did, the ending was a little disappointing though interesting. I also felt he could have dealt more with the New testament. Though most of the "rules" are set in the old, he seemed to skim over the new saying he would deal with that in the last 4 months of the year, but it was a very short part of the book and I feel he could have learned even more by dealing with that part.
Overall a good "read". I am not sure the author was the best choice for the audio, but I always like when it is the author who reads so I guess that is OK.
