Victoria McQueen has an uncanny knack for finding things: a misplaced bracelet, a missing photograph, answers to unanswerable questions. When she rides her bicycle over the rickety old covered bridge in the woods near her house, she always emerges in the places she needs to be. Vic doesn't tell anyone about her unusual ability, because she knows no one will believe her. She has trouble understanding it herself.

Would you consider the audio edition of NOS4A2 to be better than the print version?

This audio book is wonderful! Long and dreamy - I found myself thinking about the story and what may happen next in the dull anxious afternoons when I knew I would listen to this book laying safely in my bed at night. The story is scary and vivid and delightfully nightmare-ish.

Who was your favorite character and why?

The characters came to life with Kate Mulgrew - every one distinctive and moving filled with unique energy and dimension. My favorite is Vic who is strong, honest and vulnerable and acutely aware of her flaws and in spite of those who love her - cannot forgive herself. I like her brashness and the way she lives her life - adventurous and fearless with the capacity for deep and real love.

What about Kate Mulgrew’s performance did you like?

Kate obviously read this book a few times before reading it to us because her depth and understanding of the characters and changing voice and pitch kept me thoroughly enthralled and involved. It was like watching a live performance knowing the actor held nothing back to allow the audience to sit back and enjoy a performance of a lifetime. I've listened to many books and this was by far the best performance.

    Any additional comments?

If you like great story telling and a great scary story - you will not be disappointed!
