In The Outsiders, you'll learn the traits and methods striking for their consistency and relentless rationality that helped these unique leaders achieve such exceptional performance. Humble, unassuming, and often frugal, these "outsiders" shunned Wall Street and the press, and shied away from the hottest new management trends. Instead, they shared specific traits that put them and the companies they led on winning trajectories: a laser-sharp focus on per share value as opposed to earnings or sales growth; an exceptional talent for allocating capital and human resources; and the belief that cash flow, not reported earnings, determines a company's long-term value.

The book's idea is great. The stories are too short to understand or enjoy.

I would give it the plus for opening the door to more investigations regarding theses CEOs

Dig deep and you will find the most compelling argument for working together: Happiness. In business there are always unique individual achievers, but pull down the veil and you'll often find someone alongside them. Michael Eisner does just that in Working Together. Using his own collaboration with Frank Wells at Disney as a launching point for examining other famously successful partnerships, Eisner offers us an intimate and deeply personal look at some of the most rewarding business partnerships.

When I bought this book, I thought I will be getting insights on teamwork, however what I found was history narration with too many personalities and names and titles that confuses me so I lost track.

The book has many positive reviews so maybe my misunderstanding has to do with me personally! so if you are buying this book for the teamwork aspect, I don't recommend it.

At the end of 2008, Ford Motor Company was just months away from running out of cash. With the auto industry careening toward ruin, Congress offered all three Detroit automakers a bailout. General Motors and Chrysler grabbed the taxpayer lifeline, but Ford decided to save itself. Under the leadership of charismatic CEO Alan Mulally, Ford had already put together a bold plan to unify its divided global operations, transform its lackluster product lineup, and overcome a dysfunctional culture of infighting, backstabbing, and excuses.

Through my many years listening to Audible, this is one of the best books I've read so far. I enjoyed every bit of its 14 hours which flew by! The sequence of events is amazingly linked. The author made sure to mix emotions with facts to create a full experience to the listener.

It is a must for every manager. The emphasis on team work and its role to awaken the Ford giant couldn't have been done any other way.

This book might be aimed at consultants, but far from it, it is applicable in business life as it is in our social life.

On May 21, 2014, Admiral William H. McRaven addressed the graduating class of the University of Texas at Austin on their Commencement day. Taking inspiration from the university's slogan, "What starts here changes the world," he shared the 10 principles he learned during Navy Seal training that helped him overcome challenges not only in his training and long Naval career, but also throughout his life; and he explained how anyone can use these basic lessons to change themselves - and the world - for the better.

What if you were given the ultimatum: make a radical shift in your life, or lose it all? This was the question Alan Deutschman posed in "Change or Die", his sensational cover story for the May 2005 issue of Fast Company. Surprisingly, Deutschman concluded that although we all have the innate capability and fundamental need to change our behavior, we rarely ever do.

So how did he go from hapless office worker and serial failure to the creator of Dilbert, one of the world’s most famous syndicated comic strips, in just a few years? In How to Fail at Almost Everything and Still Win Big, Adams shares the strategy he has used since he was a teen to invite failure in, to embrace it, then pick its pocket.

What is the secret to their success? Are happy Danes born or made?

It is structured, dealt with the many aspects of Danish culture and way of life and utilized the opinions of many experts. Yet, it was done in a funny and engaging way.

Sixteen-year-old Starr Carter moves between two worlds: the poor neighborhood where she lives and the fancy suburban prep school she attends. The uneasy balance between these worlds is shattered when Starr witnesses the fatal shooting of her childhood best friend Khalil at the hands of a police officer. Khalil was unarmed. Soon afterward, his death is a national headline. Some are calling him a thug, maybe even a drug dealer and a gangbanger. Protesters are taking to the streets in Khalil’s name. Some cops and the local drug lord try to intimidate Starr and her family. What everyone wants to know is: what really went down that night? And the only person alive who can answer that is Starr.

Misunderstanding or Misinterpretation is the main perpetrator in our struggles as humanity in this modern world. We do not appreciate someone's lack of attention when we feel very emotional about something... and we judge them for that. We don't appreciate that different cultures bring different behaviors and priorities.

This book is on the top of my recommended book list (out of the 200 titles I have in my library) and I urge all readers to listen to it because, from the fact of being muslim, understanding where different cultures come from and how we think is the key to living together and learning to appreciate each other.
