After being murdered by a mystery assailant, navigating his way through the realm between life and death, and being brought back to the mortal world, Harry realizes that maybe death wasn’t all that bad - because he is no longer Harry Dresden, Chicago’s only professional wizard. He is now Harry Dresden, Winter Knight to Mab, the Queen of Air and Darkness. After Harry had no choice but to swear his fealty, Mab wasn’t about to let something as petty as death steal away the prize she had sought for so long.

What made the experience of listening to Cold Days the most enjoyable?

I started the Dresden series on audio books with number five and was immediately hooked. I was able to get books 1 through 4 from my library in the audio book format after that. I would not recommend starting with this book because you need to get to know the characters before you can really enjoy and appreciate this book number 14. It has been enjoyable getting to know the characters and watching them grow and mature and I read this series as much to see how they are doing as for the story itself. I have found myself recommending these books to my friends because they are just a fun read. The only downside has been the authors need to include gratuitous sex for some reason in this book. Heinlein did the same thing in his later books which I felt detracted from their enjoyment. Looking forward to book 15.

What did you like best about this story?

    The development of the characters.

What about James Marsters’s performance did you like?

He just sounds like Harry. I can't believe Audible let the production folks use someone besides Marsters to do book 13. It really detracted from the series.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

    No

    Any additional comments?

    Looking forward to 15
