Insight into how your own mind and morals really work, not just how we think they should work. Helps you gain insights into not only your own values, but those of the people around. Helps Democrats understand why Republicans do what they do and visa versa. Would recommend this book to all my friends, especially the ministers, the President of the United States, and the whole of the US Congress.
Gladwell does an excellent job of explaining where success comes from. While yes, it comes from hard work, it also has a strong basis in context and in opportunities. It makes you want to help provide more opportunities for succes to those who work hard, in order to make our country and our world even greater.
I have been talking to all my friends about this book every since I read it. Fascinating concept and one that really provides a great review of world history as well as some astounding trivia about the beverages you find yourself drinking regularly. Makes for great party conversation!
One of the best. Inspirational, a call to action and answers the question "why are things so messed up right now"?
Emotional, read his own book so knew exactly what to emphasize.
Meritocracy isn't perfect.
I think everyone should read this book.
Reliving the history of the past 40 years in technology.
Steve Jobs, for obvious reasons.
I have not, but I would like to listen to other things he reads based on this.
Yes actually, the ending made me cry, even though you know what's coming.
Excellent book, appeals to a lot of people. The readers voice was almost similar to Job's which made it feel more like it was really Jobs speaking when he was quoted.
