For most of my life, I have struggled with the concept of God. I was raised in a strict, religious environment where God was this big bulley who would send you to hell if you did even the small sin. However, after reading this book, i think of God in a completely different manner. I will warn you though, there are parts of this book that are "out there." Do read it though. It's awesome. Read with an open mind and heart. God should not be placed in a box. He is much bigger than that.

I've read several Francine Rivers novels over the years, and each of them are amazing. This novel is no exception. This novel made me laugh, cry, think, Etc. Both the narrators were fantastic. I've said this before, but I love how Francine's books make you really look at your own life. Even if the story doesn't match your life exactly, you take away something from each novel.
Thank you audible for putting this novel up. I read this book in 2 days. Another five star read from Francine.

I'm very afraid that nothing I say is going to do this book justice, but I'm going to try. I read this book when I was a senior in High-School and I loved it then. That was 7 years ago. I've been requesting this book for a while so needless to say, I was overjoyed when I found it on audible this morning. What attracted me to this novel from the beginning was my fascination with Israel and how it became a nation in 1948. I had just returned from a trip to Israel 6 months before I read Exodus for the first time. so I knew a lot of the history. This book brought back not only knowledge but also memories of places in Israel where I had gone. It was bitter-sweet. This novel makes me feel like I'm coming home. What tugged at my heart about this novel the most was the characters. To me, these are some of the best in literature. You really get to see who these people are. They make mistakes, they laugh, they love, they quarrel, Etc., and the reader feels all that. Uris really brings out the conflicts, the emotions, the tension, Etc. so very well. I feel like I am inside the book. I'm on chapter 10, but I'm already hooked. The narrator does a good job I think. If you have any kind of interest in Israel, I'd say read this book. I love it and can't wait to finish it. To me, this book is like a pair of worn jeans. It just feels good. I hope audible puts up Trinity and Redemption next. Thank you audible. You have no idea how happy you've made me today.:)

Before I get into my review, I have to say I've been terribly disappointed in a lot of the reviews of this book. The book is almost 48 hours long, yet most people barely have two sentences to say about it. I know most people have read this edition before, but for people like me, there aren't that many helpful reviews.
I've read many many books in my time, but nothing has ever captured my attention the way The Stand did. It starts off with a sick man plowing into a gas station and spreading the disease to about 3 or 4 people there. However, what intrigued me the most was not the characters themselves, but how they changed and grew. There are some obviously "Good" people, and there are some "Bad" ones. However, I felt like King also put some in the middle. He left room for people to change. The story, for me, was not predictable or dull, and by my experience, most 48 hour long books do get dull somewhere. This one never did. The narrator was fantastic. I thought he did a fabulous job. I can't recommend this book enough. I'm glad I started it, but I will warn you, you won't want to put it down. I finished it in 6 days if that tells you anything. Thank you audible for giving me the opportunity to enjoy this masterpiece. I will definitely be revisiting it again.

I had been very hesitant to read these books because I was afraid they'd be just like Twilight which I HATED for multiple reasons. However, a friend said this to me, and I'll say it here, The Hunger Games is the antithesis of Twilight. It's not silly and gushy with a heroine who can hardly think for herself much less survive in the wilderness, and the attraction between the two main characters isn't overdone at all. When I finished the book, I think I could identify with everyone in the story. The best part of this book was the gripping suspense. I honestly couldn't put it down. I fully recommend these books. However, if you're looking for a sappy senseless waste of time, this isn't for you. Another thing, if you think this book is about 24 kids in an arena killing each other off, you're mistaken. This is not a warm-fuzzy book with rainbows and sunbeams, but neither is it a blood bath from beginning to end. It will make you think and not just about life and death but about friendship, loyalty, love and the price of all of these. I've already started Catching Fire and I love it already even though I'm only on chapter 2. One final thing, the narrator does a splendid job. Five stars all the way.

This has been a long time coming. For me, it's been 3 years of requesting this at least once a week. Fantastic series with a fantastic reader. Now I can finish the series and see what happens to all the characters. Thank you audible for making this available.
For new readers, I strongly recommend starting with Outlander and working your way forward. What I love about these books is that they don't fit into any specific genre. There's romance, bloodshed, betrayal, time travel, Etc., but please don't let the fact that this is a bit of a science fiction read discourage you from trying it out because there's so much more to this series. I mean, who can resist a scottish warrior.:) I myself finished Outlander in 2 weeks, and that was during my Freshman year of college, and it happened to be the end of the semester.
As I've said, these books are very different which is hard to find these days. Davina Porter is an AMAZING narrator also. Like I say, start with Outlander if you are new to this series and don't let the fact that this book is list in the sci-fi category discourage you from at least trying it.

I'm a big James Patterson fan so of course I buy almost every book he has put out. What I like about his books is they're fast-paced and they keep my attention. This book, Private, is no exception.
I do recognize that some may not like this book. I call James Patterson's books, especially these, the womens murder club, the Binnett series, etc. "Pop Cop" books. If you are looking for a book that has lots of mystery and you really have to think hard to figure out who killed who, this may not be the book for you. However, if you are like me and enjoy a fast-paced and very suspenseful read, I think you will like this book.
I want to make one final comment about the narator. He was good. I felt that he did the voices very well.
In short, I liked this book, but I do recognize that some will not. I think it's worth the five stars and the one credit.

I'm a die-hard Francine Rivers fan. Every book that I've read has been amazing, and this one was no exception. I was again pulled into the story from chapter one. I couldn't put it down. I've said this over and over again but Francine's ability to make the reader feel every emotion of every character in her books is amazing to me. I say if you are a Francine Rivers' fan, give this book a go! You won't be disappointed. I would also like to add that the narator did an awesome job.Fantastic read!

When I first heard about this book a few months ago, I will admit I wasn't sure I'd like it. Well, once the tournament of audio books started, I decided to at least give it a try. I'll tell you this, the characters are so believable, and the narators bring this story to life. I laughed, cried, got mad, and every other emotion in between. I started this book Monday night and just now finished it, and I've not regretted one moment I spent reading.
This book taught me so much. I'm visually impaired, and so I know what it is like to be judged on something you can't help, or to have people think that I am so different from them. I lived with that for years. What I didn't realize, and this book pointed that out to me very clearly, is that I do the same thing. I may not be racist, but I judge people. This book might've been set in the early nineteen sixties, but to me, the message in its pages is still just as important now as it was back then. Thank you Kathryn Stockett for writing such an awesome novel, and thank you audible for sharing it with us.

I really enjoyed this book. It was hard to read though. I've seen a lot of these same things happen at my own church, and it was hard reliving them. At a point, i was wondering how the wife would handle her husband's misdeeds, but I was glad to see her stand up and be strong. i will warn everyone that this book is a christian novel, and so, if God doesn't appeal to you, don't read it. I loved this book myself. i honestly can say that I haven't read a francine Rivers book that I haven't liked, but that is just me. I really enjoyed the narator as well. She was good although I do feel that at times, she did speak a little slower that was necessary when the elderly people were speaking. Over all though, I give this book a five stars. It's good I highly reommend it.

I'm a huge fan of Francine Rivers, and this book was not disappointing at all. What I love about Mrs. Rivers' writing is her ability for the reader to really see how the characters feel. i found myself arguing with characters as I read through the novel. It was as if i was there inside the novel somewhere. I felt everyone's emotions, and to me, that is a sign of a good author. The narator is really good as well. Another must read from Francine:).
