The narrator does a very poor job with voices. He is equally poor with doing male and female voices. Every time he varied his normal voice it was done poorly enough to be intrusive. I wouldn't get another book with this narrator.
A normal narration style.
The breathy, gushing delivery distracted from the story to the point that I couldn't listen to this book.
Very disappointing. I might not have enjoyed this book in any case but I'll never know.
The narration was so bad that I can't tell if I might have enjoyed this book.
Dangerous can be thrilling or intriguing. This book was boring and yet creepy. Who is the intended audience? Men with adolescent fantasies? These are warped women who were NOT my pleasure to know.
Dull delivery across the board.
Yes. I love the writing.
Vivid detail makes you feel like you know these characters personally. Alaska is as much a character as any of the people. It's fun to see the developing relationships in Kate's life.
She should have listened to at least one of the previous books. She does a mediocre job with the voices and intonation. She's not horrible but the change in narration was continually intrusive throughout the book -not just at the beginning. Not a lot of variation in the voices.
Dana's books always make me laugh and cry.
