"Good Story average narration"
Love Garwood, have been a happy fan of her work for a number of years.
Unfortunatly the whispered and odd emphasis on the sound 'hhhhhh' truely irritating.
"Very bad narration"
Yes the Narrator
I have had to stop listening. The narrator has a pleasant voice however dropping w for h and vice versa, other issues pertaining to the narrators regional accent causes some very jarring listening. As to grammar; I’m sorry I’m just very disappointed.
In regards to the characters a male voice that is described as a baritone should not sound like an old maiden aunt with a hoarse throat. No, I’m very disappointed in this product and would suggest that this audio book be removed for quality reasons. Again the narrator’s voice is very nice however the narrator is not suitable for fictional audio books.
I'll be much more careful before purchasing an audio book. Instead of purchasing new releases I will wait until I can read reviews as to the narration.
I would suggest Audible check the quality of the products they retail as per my pervious comment. This audio book should not have been released in its current state especially as the publisher is Audible, Inc.
"Go Bujold!"
I have this series in ebook, paper and audio. Wonderful and generally engrossing. Mr Gardner is his excellent best.
"Not sure how i feel about this book"
I generally love Harmony books in this case however i ended up very confused as to who was speaking man, woman or rock all seemed to sound the same so conversations were very hard to understand.
Also all the characters seem to be read in monotone as if the narrator had not read the book previously.
"Horrible narration"
I could not listen to this book, i managed to hang in there for 30mins but gave up due to the poor and almost inaudible narration. It's a shame because i've heard good things about this book. I can NOT recommend purchasing this audio book.
"Totally cool"
This is just such a great adventure, with so much humor and I have to say nifty ideas. I loved how although religions were mentioned, with this story line being very scientific, it did not intrude in either a positive or a negative way. I loved how the main character was a scientist with a thought pattern that could have gotten him gelded and no idea how to fire a gun.
I do have something to point out, I haven't really read huge amounts of SciFi recently however i have noticed that the Southern Hemisphere doesn't seem to exist on these worlds. Can perhaps new/old Authors take note?
"Wonderful, funny and something of a lesson"
A fantastic listen, a truly wonderful story of how to live another life and realize that what Mother or Father want out of life isn't what you may want.
The book also speaks to the acceptance of the character that she is 'not a good governess' and her realization that she might be good at other things instead comes with wonder. That through the life she has lived she accepts with regrets that she would never be kissed let alone have a home or a family of her own yet comes to see the possibilities available to her.
In just one day, with just a few daring decisions Miss Pettigrew lives.
"lost the plot with tech details"
I love the Honor books and also the 'We Few' series. My fav books of all time are 'Path of the Fury' and "The Apocalypse Troll".
Sadly, though i did manage to finish it, I was lost and disappointing.
