When the world was young, and its name was Faerie, the power of magic ruled - and the Elfstones warded the race of Elves and their lands, keeping evil at bay. But when an Elven girl fell hopelessly in love with a Darkling boy of the Void, he carried away more than her heart. Thousands of years later, tumultuous times are upon the world now known as the Four Lands. Users of magic are in conflict with proponents of science. Elves have distanced their society from the other races. The Druid order is threatened.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Enjoyed the book so that I returned to the original book and started reading the entire series. I helps fill in the details of this book to go back and find out the history which was in the previous books.

    Any additional comments?

I found the authors site and a reading list for catching up with the series and began the series from the beginning.

Hidden deep in the Amazon rain forest is a place shrouded in mystery. It is called The Mission. And in nearby villages people are screaming in pain as they die from a virus more deadly than Ebola. They can't escape it. They can't cure it. They can't stop it from exploding into a worldwide epidemic poised to kill us all.... Scientist Lisa Duncan and Special Forces Officer Mike Turcotte suspect this new "Black Death" is actually a biological weapon in an escalating war between us...and "them".

What would have made Area 51: the Mission better?

An improvement would have been a better writer. His use of acronyms were irritating at first, then in places, just so frequent that they took away from the story. I found myself losing the point of the story trying to follow the confusing alphabetic jumbles.

What do you think your next listen will be?

Never again one of these novels.

What didn’t you like about Jeffrey Kafer’s performance?

HATED IT! He sounded like a cross between a bad news announcer and a Rod Sterling wannabe. He has no emotion at all in his delivery of dialogue and he sounds as if reading a line at a time across a script page instead of reading the sentence, any sentence.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Area 51: the Mission?

    The entire book.

    Any additional comments?

I will NEVER listen to a book again by this narrator. And the author is questionable in my list of bad 'Riter's'

As one of America's preeminent comedic voices, George Carlin saw it all throughout his extraordinary 50-year career and made fun of most of it. Last Words is the story of the man behind some of the most seminal comedy of the last half century, blending his signature acer-bic humor with never-before-told stories from his own life.

Was Last Words worth the listening time?

Enjoyed, but a little disturbing hearing the oddities of a man's life.
