Great story and a great listen. I knew I wanted to read this book but since I get motion sick on the bus, I was happy to enjoy the audio version on my commute. Jacobs has a great voice and reads with enthusiasm. I enjoy his little side stories about his wife, children, grandfather, crazy aunt and trips to the doctor. I was surprised this book didn't have a profound turning point where he really started shedding pounds drastically but I think his overall message is important: We're overwhelmed with health propaganda and we needed someone like him to investigate what works and what doesn't. Great, great book and I'd definitely recommend it!

While I have not run out and joined ultra-marathoning like most people who've read this book, I can confirm I have tried on some "barefoot" running shoes and am contemplating dipping my toes in the water and drinking the "barefoot running" Kool-Aid. I love non-fiction. I love good story-telling. I love science. This book was the trifecta of all three.

Flynn does an amazing job at developing characters, the plot and suspense. Then. She just ends it. In a cheap, somewhat predictable fashion. I love 99% of the book but had to re-listen to the end THREE times to make sure that that was how it ended. Bummer.

I read raved reviews about this audiobook but was extremely hesitant because of the poor audio quality in the sample I listened to. I had a bad experience with Pride and Prejudice and just didn't think I could suffer another book with bad audio quality.

But it's great! And I second all the great things that people have already said about this book! The narration is excellent and you're easily able to keep track of the character's thanks to Frank Muller's amazing performance!

I'd never seen the movie but I'm so glad I listened to the book first!

This audiobook is what makes Audible so great! A MUST listen, for sure!

It's only fair to warn you that I'm not a follower of The Bloggess and I'm not sure I understand her sense of humor.

Probably like many of you, I saw that this book was popular and written by a funny pop-culture female and thought if it's anything like Tina Fey, Mindy Kaling or Chelsea Handler, I'm SO in.

Unfortunately, it's more like Ellen's most recent book: a lot of nonsensical rambling.

Which is a shame because Lawson does tell some really great, brave and genuinely funny stories. I enjoyed a solid 1/3rd of this book.

I however hated the "PS, PPS, PPS, PPPS, PPPPS" that every chapter/anecdote ended with. I hated the feeling that Lawson was trying to one-up every one she's ever met with just how cray-zy her life/childhood/marriage is. I hated hearing her nag at her husband. Like Ellen's most recent book, I found myself wanting the author to get to the point, make me smile and get on with the story. "Land the plane!" as my mother says. Stop the rambling, side stories, "out loud" thoughts, whining and mentioning of your editor.

Even though I skipped several portions of this book because it was cringe-worthy (sticky notes left for her husband), I want to give Lawson the benefit of the doubt because at the end of the day, despite the singing of the chapter's names, you know she is a good person and a talented writer who is the face of blog-nation, whether or not she wants to be (a good/brave story was about her social anxiety).

Fisher Stevens does a great job reading this book and creating difference voices for the narrator (Biff) and Joshua (Jesus). In order to really appreciate this book, you have to have a sense of humor about Jesus and the missing years in the Bible. Some of it was long-winded and hard to believe, but overall it was an interesting perspective to consider about Jesus' teenage to mid-adult life. The ending was a bit of a shock and I didn't love it. However, Fisher Stevens makes this a worthy listen.

Must be an old audio book? I didn't like the performance and the characters were hard to keep track of (although I often have this problem with audio books with lackluster performers). Wouldn't recommend it and couldn't finish it.

No but I did purchase the Kindle version and hardback to own.

Her cadence really sets the important tone for the points that Cain is bringing up. Her pauses and soft but strong urges brings Cain's message to life... That we don't need to be gregarious or the loudest person in the room.

This book should be mandatory reading for all teachers, parents, mentors and coaches. I cannot emphasize enough how much this changed my own outlook on my life. I teared up at several points with

I can't believe this woman and I grew up in the same world, at the same time. To hear of her account, it's hard to believe we even live in the same country. I enjoy memoirs such as these that expose religion, cults and practices that are shielded from the outside world. Feldman has such an important story to tell about how strong the ties of religion can be yet how determined people like her cannot be bound by them. The narrator does a great job in nailing the cadence of questions and concerns Feldman brings up in her writing. A great and worthy audible purchase!

Yes, Rob Lowe's cadence is brilliant. He's a surprisingly good story teller. I found myself totally intrigued and wrapped up in stories I otherwise wouldn't care about, like shooting a film for Francis Ford Coppola. While I don't consider Lowe a particularly influential actor in Hollywood, there's no denying the cultural impact

Memorable? Apparently, he went to high school with someone who was murdered after all of his pubic hairs were picked out, one-by-one, by the killer. So random, disturbing and weird.

The last chapter, one of the last minutes, when Rob mentions his devotion to his wife. It gave me goose bumps and made me tear up. You don't see/hear the kind of commitment any more, especially in Hollywood.

Great audiobook, very worth the money or credit.
