I listened to and loved the first book of this series, being a huge fan of Usual K. le Guin. Unfortunately, the narrator has made it impossible to listen to this book. She speaks so slowly and with such a saccharin intonation, that I just couldn't listen to it. I realize this is a book for "Young Adults", but surely, anyone older than six can listen faster than this. The narrator’s voice is childlike and insipid. I guess I'll just have to read the book.

Speak in a norma ltone of voice and at a normal speed. She speaks way too slowly.

Rerecord it with a good narrator please.

This is an imaginative and fun story. It is historically accurate and has very interesting historical detail. It was read perfectly by the actress and I recommend it highly. I can't wait for the final book of the trilogy and I think I will probably read or listen to everything this author writes in the future.

A riviting story.

It added to the experience but at the same time didn't call attention to itself.

It did make me cringe and moan when the first batch of tea plants so labouriously collected were lost do to ineptitude in transport.

I really loved this book first and formost because it is an amazing story. That it is true and a fascinating piece of history of which I was previously unaware is an added bonus.
