Would you try another book from Robert Ludlum and/or Scott Brick?

I enjoyed Bourne Identity and Bourne Supermacy both were good, and Scott Brick does a good job, but Bourne Ultimatum is bad, I couldn't even finish it which is a first for me in auidobooks.

What three words best describe Scott Brick’s performance?

Adequate, I don't think the material (dialog) left him with much to work with. The dialog in the book is rather sophmoric. Hard to beleive the characters are ventrans.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Disappopintment after the first 2 books.

    Any additional comments?

Don't waste 2 credits. Skip this book if you liked the first 2 in the Bourne series you will be disappointed. I made it through the first 3 parts and never listened to the 4th couldn't stand the dialog and characters, felt like it was writen by high school student.

No names. No Feds. No trace evidence. That's how Jonathan Grave operates. As a freelance specialist in covert rescues, he has to work outside the law to get things done - especially in highly sensitive hostage situations. But when an Indiana college student is abducted, and Jonathan's meticulous plan explodes into a deadly shooting spree, the local authorities are out for blood - and they're not alone. Someone wants to control a devastating secret...Someone rich and powerful.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

No not really. I tend to recommend books I give 5 stars to. Too much in this novel was 'over the top' and totally unbelievable - fantasy. It was an enjoyable ride but not stellar nor something I would go out of my way to recommend to a friend. Yet, it was enjoyable enough to download the second book in the series.

How could the performance have been better?

Need different narator/performer. John Gilstrap is just the wrong voice for this type of novel. He made it feel old - like something that was writen in the 60s or 70s yet the technology and events were current.

    Any additional comments?

It is not a bad novel but it isn't a great one either - it is average.

Four friends, recent college graduates, travel to Kenya to work at a giant refugee camp for Somalis. Two men, two women, each with their own reasons for being there. But after twelve weeks, they’re ready for a break and pile into a Land Cruiser for an adventure. They get more than they bargained for. Bandits hijack them. They wake up in a hut, hooded, bound, no food or water. Hostages. As a personal favor, John Wells is asked to try to find them, but he does so reluctantly. East Africa isn’t his usual playing field.

What did you love best about The Night Ranger?

I have listened to all of the books in this series and have enjoyed everyone. In this book as in the prevous the hero has matured and seems comfortable in his life. The story itself seems plausable and the history and background interesting. It appears this author thorougly researches the political and historic context to his stories making them both entertaining and dare I say educational?

    Any additional comments?

The whole series is worth a listen, but start with the first book in the series.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Most definately. One of the best second books from a 'new' author in a series I think I have ever listened to! Kudos to 'Dalton Fury'!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Tier One Wild?

There wasn't just one. Book was excellent from start to finish. Events where well told from both emotional and operational perspective. And there were no obvoius turns .. well told story!

Have you listened to any of Ari Fliakos’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No I have not. But he did a good job - he read the book and didn't get in the way of the author's story. His different voices for the characters worked well. I would listen to other books he read.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes. I didn't want to stop, but I also didn't want to finish the book because I didn't want the story to end!

    Any additional comments?

Very very impressed with second book in this series. I have listened to many series over the years. The good authors improve from one book to the next till they really hit their voice and their characters but it takes 3 or 4 novels. This second novel was an outstanding second book, light years ahead. I can't wait to listen to more. In fact, although they aren't ficition I plan to go back and listen to the nonfiction books by this author.

After being murdered by a mystery assailant, navigating his way through the realm between life and death, and being brought back to the mortal world, Harry realizes that maybe death wasn’t all that bad - because he is no longer Harry Dresden, Chicago’s only professional wizard. He is now Harry Dresden, Winter Knight to Mab, the Queen of Air and Darkness. After Harry had no choice but to swear his fealty, Mab wasn’t about to let something as petty as death steal away the prize she had sought for so long.

What does James Marsters bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

James Marsters performs the story, the pauses, voice inflection, makes Harry and the story come alive.

    Any additional comments?

It is great to have Harry back. I didn't realize how much I missed Harry and James Marsters performance until I started listening to this book. It was like meeting old friends again and yet there were many unexpecte twists. I can't wait for the next book.
