I have listened to this several times already. Great story and awesome narration. Enjoy George Mueller as he does the voices.
as an avid reader of Stephen King whom I have read and followed since 1976, i was disappointed with this one.
It was well written and the main character well drawn it was just slow and boring. The narrator David Morse was awesome. The hype was it was classic King, dark, scary. I found it to be none of these. It was a story of a boy to man spanning sixty years. I kept listening waiting for it to pick up or give me that King "tingle" that all King fans know. Never happened the last couple of chapters were pretty good but should have started there and made a great story. Maybe it was because I didn't relate to either of the two main characters but with King you can usually find a way. In my humble opinion this was not one of his better books.
If you love King you will probably still buy and if you do I recommend audible as the narrator made the book better for me.
Joe Hill is an awesome writer and this is his best book so far. The reader is pretty good although her voice was annoying in a few areas. If you enjoy supernatural and fantasy books don't miss out on this one. Christmas land is brought to life with vivid detail and great imagination of the writer. I laughed, cried and almost peed my pants (lol) in different parts.
Don't miss out on this great book.
I enjoyed the book, especially the reader. I would have like a little more detail at the end on why they did the murders, how and why they picked the people they picked. Needed more details in the above area. It was a good book and has some great parts and I didn't know who did it until the end. I will listen t it again.
I enjoyed this book very much. It was a good short listen. The narrator was ok. Most of his voices were very similar. The book itself showed the lighter side of King. I enjoy his scary or supernatural books the best. It is worth the listen. His characters are always good and bring you into the book. The ending could have had a little more closure. I did laugh and cry at different times in the book,. If you are a SK fan you will enjoy it
I enjoyed this whole series and would highly recommend it. It has great humor and a good story line. The description and attributes the writer gives the fae, gods and other preternatural creatures is very well written. Thoroughly enjoyed all these books
Luke Daniels is a great narrator and reads well. I will look for more series narrated by him.
I enjoyed this book very much. Owen King is a great up and coming novelist. He captured my attention and had moments of laughter and near tears. Although not my normal genre to read. This is more of a humorous drama I was surprised by the superb writing. Owen King really show his own writing style and fanfare. Does have a few graphic descriptions so probably not for children.
The narrator did a really good job and kept you in the book. I would recommend this to any of my friends for a good, brooding yet lighthearted book.
Mr. King you have my respect and admiration for adapting your own style and finesse in a family of accomplished writers. Keep up the good work
The reader is excellent and does a wonderful job love George Guidall and of course Mr. King at his finest. Best series I have ever read or listened to
The story made Roland very human
