This is the third of the series I've listened to, and it just keeps getting better and better. Outlander, Dragonfly in Amber and Voyager. I can't wait for Audible to get the rest of the series in unabridged versions. The stories are so rich, I wouldn't want to list to a cut down version. Davina Porter is one of the best narators I've heard.
I see a couple of pretty harsh reviews for this book so felt I needed to add another perspective. This book reminded me a lot of Pride and Prejudice...not to say it's the same story or the same quality but the character interactions are similar, there are even a few scenes that seemed reminiscent of P&P. I did find this book a little slow in parts but overall I really enjoyed it. I loved the Conn character but can't figure out if he shows himself in one of the other books in this series...it would be great to see his issues resolved. The "dowdy" heroine was a little strange but it was interesting to see it play out....that too reminded me of Mr. Darcy's first commentary on Elizabeth.
What a great book! I couldn't stop listening. A gripping story with twist and turns. The main characters are likable but flawed, which leads to a really interesting story. The author is great at creating a bold visual without over describing or providing too many details. Throughout the book I kept wishing that they'd make a movie of this story...maybe we'll get lucky and they will though I doubt it will be as great as the book.
