Frank Bishop has been at war with fallen angels since he was five years old. That's when they first tried to kill him. A group of supernatural warriors called the Watchers saved Frank that fateful day. They taught him how to be a powerful wizard and warrior. But nothing could prepare him for what Jessie and Arraziel have planned. Frank blurs the line between good and evil in his all-consuming quest to stop Jessie and the Fallen in book one of the dark urban fantasy series, The Second Death.

This is book one and does a fantastic job of introducing the characters and laying the groundwork for the series. It takes a bit to get used to switching back and forth between characters and past and present Frank telling the story but once you get used to it the story is fast paced and very enjoyable. The narrator does a great job bringing the story and characters to life. I look forward to more in this series and from this author.

Hunting in Bruges is a good series starter. Jenna is a strong willed, egotistical workaholic. This story is fast paced with tons of action and interesting human and paranormal characters. I enjoyed both of the narrators distinctive character voices and they did a fantastic job bringing the story and characters to life. Ivy Granger is mentioned a few times in this story so I hope she makes an appearance in future stories. I look forward to more in this series and from this author

I love the core idea of the story but was disappointed in the execution (the story itself, not the narration) The main lead lacks common sense and makes reckless decisions. The story itself is very simple with no real depth or explanation to it. The narration was fantastic. I enjoyed the pacing and character voices. Overall this is a simple story that I hope the author goes into more depth with in future installments because the core idea is a great one.

All Kelly Winters wanted was a quiet, simple life in the small coastal town of Haven, and for a time, she got that, until dead bodies began piling up, and she discovered she was a witch. Now, it’s all magic and mayhem. Fortunately, Kelly isn't alone, and she's on the fast track to mastering these spells. So when a YouTube convention set to take place in Haven is ruined when one of the main speakers is mysteriously found murdered, and police have her brother pinned as the primary suspect, she has no other choice than to investigate.

Book 2 continues Kelly's journey into coming into her powers and finding out who she is. I enjoy reading about the townspeople of Haven and all of the crazy unusual happenings there. The author has done a great job at world building in this series. The clues to the mystery were paced out perfectly so I was guessing until the end. The narrator does a fabulous job bringing the story and characters to life. Her distinct and easy to understand voices make this a great listen! I look forward to more in this series.

She gave me her blood, and my life changed forever. Anastasia. My sire. The only influential figure in my already-fragile life. She did this to me. She caused all the pain and suffering. There was a time I believed I owed her everything. After all, she gave me immortality and the never-ending thirst for the energy contained in the blood of my victims. But now vampires hunt me and the humans want to use me as their personal weapon. They believe I'm some kind of apotropaic figurine that can damn all Deamhan and force us back into hell where we belong. Me? I just want to live. I just want to be Maris. That way, the only one I can damn is myself.

This book is part of a series but can be read as a stand alone. This story follows Maris journey as an immortal Deamhan. It is an enjoyable read with in depth characters and descriptive world building. I really liked seeing how Maris and others adapt to the ever changing social changes through the generations. The narration was good however at times it was not clear, having a sort of echo sound to it. I look forward to more in this series and from this author.

Her hunky boyfriend and boss, Knight Vander, is busy setting up the new world order in the Netherworld and hasn’t been around much. Consequently, Dulcie is put in charge of Headquarters for the ANC (Association for Netherworld Creatures). Unfortunately for her, she doesn’t have a whole lot to keep her occupied. Well, that is, until Jax Rochefort storms into Headquarters and her life.

This series can be read as a standalone. In my opinion this story was not as captivating as others by this author. The story felt rushed and the banter & sexual innuendos between Dulcie and Jax got old and tiresome very fast. Honestly for me the narrator saved this story in that if I were reading this I would have skimmed through alot but the way the narrator read kept me engaged through the audiobook.
