Overall I enjoyed this story and found myself listening to it in addition to my normal listening time (traveling and working). That being said I found myself caring less about the story, becoming annoyed with characters, and becoming bored with the dialogue as the story progressed.
I love the concept of the story and thought it fairly well executed, at least early one. However, the character were fairly flat and cliche, the angst young adult (the hero), the "french" underground revolutionary, the hickish muscle, and the cold/disinterested love interest. The story was fairly predictable towards the conclusion and the overuse of "Sparks" as a curse, cause me to lose some interest and I really just wanted the book to conclude.
That all being said it was a fun listen and I will probably checkout the follow up.
Don't expect anything groundbreaking or enlightening, but you can expect to be reasonable entertained.
