When you're as big and rough as Jack Reacher - and you have a badly-set, freshly-busted nose patched with silver duct tape - it isn't easy to hitch a ride. But Reacher has some unfinished business in Virginia, so he doesn't quit. And at last, he's picked up by three strangers - two men and a woman. But within minutes it becomes clear they're all lying about everything - and then they run into a police roadblock on the highway. There has been an incident, and the cops are looking for the bad guys....

If you could sum up A Wanted Man in three words, what would they be?

    A wanted read

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Yes, always something happening, some good twists and turns.

Which character – as performed by Jeff Harding – was your favorite?

    Jack Reacher

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

    N/A

    Any additional comments?

Reacher books are good, but I think Lee is getting carried away with the scene and history descriptions that sometimes appear to go on with no actual relevance to the rest of the story. Sounds a little picky i know, but the first books in the series weren't as bad as they are now. Not bad, but you know what I mean.... :-)

Summer. Massachusetts. An old Silver Wraith with a frightening history. A story about one serial killer and his lingering, unfinished business.Anyone could be next. We're going to Christmasland . . .NOS4A2 is an old-fashioned horror novel in the best sense. Claustrophobic, gripping and terrifying, this is a story that will have you on the edge of the seat while you read, and leaving the lights on while you sleep.

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

Somebody who is deaf would probably enjoy listening to this. Then again I am sure they would be happy to hear anything.

What could Joe Hill have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Have somebody else write it with different plot and certainly a different narrator too.

What didn’t you like about Kate Mulgrew’s performance?

I couldn't bare listening to her whining on any more. Fingernails down a chalk board would be easier to listen to.

What character would you cut from NOS4R2?

    All characters should be removed.

    Any additional comments?

Ok, so this one just wasn't for me. Wouldn't mind a refund but have a feeling that feature is now missing from the website. Nice one am Amazon, look at how much I spend with you.

I will sum up this book as... Well I can't really post what I want to say here. But compared to my massive library of audible books, this is certainly the worst so far.

In this spectacular Cold-War-as-Alice-in-Wonderland epic, Littell, "the American le Carre," takes us down the rabbit hole and into the labyrinthine world of espionage that has been the CIA for the last half-century. "Ostensibly a single novel, [The Company] can also be read as an anthology of cracking good spy stories," says Publishers Weekly.

Where does The Company rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This is one of the best audio books I have listened to so far. Very long, but gripping the entire time.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Harvey Torretti, really liked his casual style and could just imagine guys really being like him following the war. He was a no nonsense character that always came through.

Have you listened to any of Scott Brick’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes, I have. And he is really good. Often when I find a good narrator I will listen to other books they have narrated. 9 times out of 10 I find another winning series of books to listen to.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

This would only spoil the novel for anybody listening to it. So no comment, but there is one part which is very sad.

    Any additional comments?

Great book. You have to listen this one. I believe this should fit in the category of books that are a must read. I have since ordered the DVD mini series based on this novel.

What made the experience of listening to One Good Dog the most enjoyable?

I loved the fact that the story is narrated from the human and dog perspective. Great having to narrators. The dog had such a great personality and seemed very real to understand his thoughts.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Chance, the dog. I love dogs and understood his explanation of how he interpreted things.

What about Fred Berman and Christina Delaine ’s performance did you like?

I think the narrators names are confusing. Pretty sure both narrators where guys. But either way, they were both great.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Ok, i'll admit it. I got totally emotionally hoked on this one. The author did an amazing job of taking you on a journey that was full of highs and lows. I'm not afraid to admit as a grown man and truck driver, this did bring a tear to my eye. The message within the book is something everybody could learn from. It shows humanity at its worst and its best. A true book for dog lovers no matter who you are.

    Any additional comments?

I guarantee, that if you listen to this, you will not be disappointed. Once I started listening to this I literally could not stop.

What would have made I, Alex Cross better?

Too slow to get going. Narrator was useless, hard to tell who was who. Never finished the book just couldn't get into it. I think after having listened to Michael Connelly's and Lee Child's books I now have high expectations of other authors. Really tried to get into this, but started to fall asleep. Far to slow. I wish Michael Connelly had more I could listen too but have got them all already.

What do you think your next listen will be?

    Anything but James Patterson.

How could the performance have been better?

Narrator could have used a better variation of voices. Seemed a bit mono tone for me.

What character would you cut from I, Alex Cross?

Alex Cross. Get rid of him. Boring.

    Any additional comments?

Annoyed. I was hoping this author would have given me another series to get into. But alas, too slow for me. shame,.

Micky closely followed by Bosch. Good to see both my favorite characters in the same book.

What about Michael Brandon’s performance did you like?

Great narration, good diversity of voices etc.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

May 1992, and after four LAPD officers were acquitted after the savage beating of Rodney King, Los Angeles is ablaze. As looting and burning take over the city, law and order are swept away in a tidal wave of violence. But under threat of their lives, homicide detectives like Harry Bosch are still stubbornly trying to do their job. With no effective police presence on the streets, murder just got a whole lot easier - and investigating them got a whole lot harder.

What did you love best about The Black Box?

Having read/listened to all the Bosch books, this is by far the best story so far. I really liked how Michael Connelly has created a story from the past and brought it into the future. Similar to a couple of others since bosch has been in the open unsolved unit. But this story had me hooked from start to finish. Great story that comes together very nicely. Connelly is a genius the way he puts all this together. From Bosch starting with one small clue that leads him on a journey to find the truth.

Who was your favorite character and why?

    As always, Harry Bosch.

Which character – as performed by Michael McConnohie – was your favorite?

    Bosch.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Absolutely. Was hard to stop this when I had to. But got through it in two days.

    Any additional comments?

Please keep them coming Michael. I am at a loss without my fix of Bosch's determination and skill for finding justice.

Would you listen to The Lincoln Lawyer again? Why?

No, but only because I don't like to read or listen to the same book twice no matter how good it is. This was excellent too.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Micky. Great character, could imagine just how he would be in real life. The movie portrayed this character very well also. Just as I would have imagined. In fact all characters in the book were well cast for the movie.

Which character – as performed by Adam Grupper – was your favorite?

Again, Micky. I think it is hard to not have the main character as your favorite. But the voice he used for Micky was spot on.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes. I drive trucks and only like to listen while driving. But found myself still listening after I had parked up for the night in the sleeper cab.

    Any additional comments?

After listening to this book I rented the movie. The book is so much better, the movie was good but slightly disappointing after listening to the book. Still, both were great. If you have seen the movie but not listened to the book, I highly recommend it, you won't be disappointed. The book contains so much more detail.

Yes, there was always something exciting happening. The story was never dull, not for a moment.

Have you listened to any of Buck Schirner’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No i hadn't, but he did an excellent job. The different voices and emotions made the story very easy to follow as to who was saying what. This makes a world of difference compare to some performers who appear to have the same voice for all characters.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

    NA

Great story by an excellent author. I am hooked on Michael Connelys books and have just about got through them all. The entire Bosch series and Micky Hauler. A few left to go, then need to find more similar authors.

Felt this to be a kid with huge imagine just like I had when I was a kid. The parents don't seem to understand how influential kids are and that they pick up on every little thing that they see and hear. To me this sounds like a kid who picked up alot from being in church with his parents around the home etc. Having been a kid myself, I had an imagine just like this. So not really convinced. If the family wasn't Christian I might consider it, but as soon as I heard the father/writer was a pastor, I knew then to take this book with a grain of salt.
