  • Ready Player One

    • UNABRIDGED (15 hrs and 46 mins)
    • By Ernest Cline
    • Narrated By Wil Wheaton
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

At once wildly original and stuffed with irresistible nostalgia, Ready Player One is a spectacularly genre-busting, ambitious, and charming debut—part quest novel, part love story, and part virtual space opera set in a universe where spell-slinging mages battle giant Japanese robots, entire planets are inspired by Blade Runner, and flying DeLoreans achieve light speed.

"Stephenson’s Snow Crash meets Scalzi’s Redshirts"

Get ready for an enjoyable romp in 80’s techno/entertainment trivia; and
immerse yourself in a futuristic dystopian society where virtual reality holds the currency du jour

This was one of the funnest books I've read in a while. It grabbed me from the beginning and never let go. I’m usually not into the cyberpunk genre but this was AWESOME.

This book is racked with fun 80’s techno/entertainment/fashion trivia. From John Hughes work, Chuck Taylor All Star shoes, and Pack-man, to Billy Idol, Rush, Atari, and School House Rock.

The genre sort of reminded me of the techno style of Neal Stephenson’s Snow Crash mixed with the witty banter found in John Scalzi’s Redshirts.

If you were an 80’s child and enjoy SiFi, you will love Ernest Cline’s Ready Player One.

    "a phenomenal multi-genre series"

This is a phenomenal multi-genre series! An entertaining read/listen, encompassing all the best elements of fantasy, action, humor, and suspense! While the Dresden Files series is classified as SF/Fantasy, it should be recommended for readers from all genres, including Mystery, Fiction, and even Romance! Part Harry Potter and part Hard-boiled detective story, this series will get you hooked and keep you wanting more!
James Marsters is an extraordinary reader, a master of his art, and a GREAT voice for this character.
