Jamie Fraser knows from his time-traveling wife Claire that, no matter how unlikely it seems, America will win the Revolutionary War. But that truth offers little solace, since Jamie realizes he might find himself pointing a weapon directly at his own son - a young officer in the British army. And Jamie isn't the only one with a tormented soul - for Claire may know who wins the conflict, but she certainly doesn't know whether or not her beloved Jamie survives.

I've listened to all the books in this series and love them all! I'm anxious for the unabridged versions of "The Fiery Cross" and "A Breadth of Snow and Ashes" to become available on Audible. You might think that 45 hours of listening is daunting, but this book includes many new characters and their integral roles with the main characters. I'm curious to see if D.G. is going to flesh out Ian's character in her next book since I felt like she teased us with his role in this book. I was however, disappointed with the ending, it just seemed to stop. D.G. is such a wonderful writer that I expected a better ending than she delivered. Don't let this stop you from purchasing the book, it is well worth it.

They met in the middle of a Boston street mugging. By the time Johnny Anziano helped rescue the new shop-owner on the block, he'd fallen completely in love. But it seemed like the romance was over before it even started. Because in less than a week, Chelsea Spencer was getting married. But then she asked Johnny for a favor that left the aspiring restaurateur reeling - a "business" proposition a man would be a fool to accept - and a damn fool not to.

I truly enjoyed this book. The only problem is the narrator. She reads so slowly that it's nearly impossible to listen to the story. I recommend this book with the disclaimer that the narrator is totally wrong for it.

With no other family and a life spent in and out of institutions, Aden and the souls have become friends. But now they're causing him all kinds of trouble. Like, he'll blink and suddenly he's a younger Aden, reliving the past. One wrong move, and he'll change the future. Or he'll walk past a total stranger and know how and when she's going to die. He's so over it. All he wants is peace. And then he meets a girl who quiets the voices. Well, as long as he's near her. Why? Mary Ann Gray is his total opposite.

I truly enjoyed this book. It has a "Twilight Sage" feel to it, but still enjoyable. The only thing I did not like about the book was the abrupt ending. The author provides much detail throughout the story and then it just ends.

The narrator was superb! I enjoy listening to her.

Gena Showalter is a fine author! I've listened to all her books that Audible has available.

With chaos brewing, the governor calls upon Jamie Fraser to unite the backcountry and safeguard the colony for King and Crown. But from his wife, Jamie knows that three years hence the shot heard round the world will be fired, and the result will be independence, with those loyal to the King either dead or in exile. And there is also the matter of a tiny clipping from The Wilmington Gazette, dated 1776, which reports Jamie's death, along with his kin.

First, understand that my rating of this book does not reflect my opinion of the writer's work. It does, however, reflect my displeasure for the abridgement and narration of the book.
I'm a loyal fan of the "Outlander" series and the abridgement cheats the reader of the pleasure of Ms. Gabaldon's work. After listening to the other books in this series, the narration is absolutely inferior. This does not mean the narrator is not good at her work, just not on this piece. Davina Porter does such a good job of bringing the characters to life that listening to any other narrator is painful.
I recommend that you save your credit/money until Audible is able to obtain the unabridged version of this book.

"Being trapped in a bedroom with a woman is a grand thing. Being trapped in hundreds of bedrooms over two thousand years isn't. And being cursed into a book as a love-slave for eternity can ruin even a Spartan warrior's day. As a love-slave, I know everything about women. How to touch them, how to savor them, and most of all, how to pleasure them. But when I was summoned to fulfill Grace Alexander's sexual fantasies, I found the first woman in history who saw me as a man with a tormented past."

I really enjoyed this book. I thought the characters were well developed for their roles in the book. I'm currently listening to the rest of the series (book 4). The only problem is that Audible does not have the complete series. They have books 1-4 and then it skips to book 10 and on. PLEASE Audible, get the rest of the series! It's very annoying to get hooked on a series and not have the complete series!

I highly recommend this book and the series if you can tolerate not having the complete series to listen to.

Practical Melanie Middleton hates to admit she can see ghosts. But she's going to have to accept it. An Old man she recently met has died, leaving her his historic Tradd Street home, complete with housekeeper, dog - and a family of ghosts anxious to tell her their secrets.

    Overall

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. So much so that I stayed awake until 4:30 a.m. listening to it and still had to wait till the next day to finish it!

I've always been interested in the paranormal, whether "real" or fiction. This book incorporates the paranormal, budding romances, quirky characters and a message about coming back to "home" and roots.

Although the book came to a certain conclusion, the characters and their stories were left open-ended enough for a sequel and I hope that Ms. White intends to do just that.

In my humble opinion, this book is well worth the money. I'm certain that I will listen to it again and again.

Firefly Lane is the poignant, powerful story of two women and the friendship that becomes the mainstay of their lives. For 30 years, Tully and Kate buoy each other through life, weathering the storms of friendship: jealousy, anger, hurt, resentment. They think they've survived it all, until a single act of betrayal tears them apart...and puts their courage and friendship to the ultimate test.

    Cherri says: "slow read"
    "Highly recommended!"
    Overall

What a poignant and touching story! It felt as if Kate and Tully became my friends too during the hours of listening to the story. As other reviewers have pointed out, this is a long listen; but to truly get the meaning and message, it needed to be. Being about the same age as the characters, I felt as though I were looking back on my life. So many of the things that Kate went through, I too have been though and some I am still experiencing, so this book reached deep into me. I cried buckets full of tears toward the end.

Susan Erickson (narrator) does a superb job. Her talent as a reader is superior.

    I highly recommend this book.

Griff Burkett has a multimillion-dollar contract with the Dallas Cowboys. But at the end of his football career, deep in debt, a crime kingpin offers him a chance to resolve his loans by throwing a game. Griff agrees, and walks into an FBI sting. After serving time, he finds only closed doors. Then he is summoned by eccentric millionaire Foster Speakman. Speakman, a recluse since a car accident left him crippled, is impotent. Deadly consequences ensue when he hires Burkett to impregnate his wife.

    Overall

This was an awesome book. Jusr enough suspense, romance and a bit twisted. Of course having lived in the Dallas area most of my life, I loved the similar sounding names; such as the airline, and the description of places that made me say "I've been there"!

You won't regret buying this book. Enjoy!
