If you could sum up Staying on the Path in three words, what would they be?

    Elevating, Transforming, Amazing

Who was your favorite character and why?

    Dr. Wayne Dyer

What does Wayne W. Dyer bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

His intellectual ability to speak and explain in a way that all levels of people can understand.

What did you learn from Staying on the Path that you would use in your daily life?

"What others think of me is not my problem." "Sex is a participatory dance of creation" I love it. When I listen to Dr. Dyer and start viewing life and incorporating into my life things he state in his books/audio, I find myself more humble, less stressed, less judgemental and elevated in a positive sense in my spirituality. Dr. Dyer is my psychologist.

  • Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail (Oprah's Book Club 2.0)

At 22, Cheryl Strayed thought she had lost everything. In the wake of her mother's death, her family scattered and her own marriage was soon destroyed. Four years later, with nothing more to lose, she made the most impulsive decision of her life: to hike the Pacific Crest Trail from the Mojave Desert through California and Oregon to Washington State - and to do it alone. She had no experience as a long-distance hiker, and the trail was little more than “an idea, vague and outlandish and full of promise.” But it was a promise of piecing back together a life that had come undone.

    Story
Would you try another book from Cheryl Strayed and/or Bernadette Dunne?

    Yes, maybe.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

The book started out as if the character is a victim. She experimented with life like all young adults do -- nothing new there. I believe she tried to convey it in a way that it was like the greatest transformation of young adulthood. We all have stories to tell and this one was just typical. Had it been a story about a 14 yr old head of household raising 3 siblings because parents had died, now that's a transformation into adulthood. Sorry, just didn't view this story as that intriguing. I bought the book because of watching Oprah do an interview with the author. It was still disappointing.

How could the performance have been better?

The voice of the narrator was not good at all. She didn't put excitement where there could be excitement. She was not the right voice for this book.

Do you think Wild needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

    No.
