I prefer autobiographies that are read by the author instead of a professional narrator. Why? Because when the autobiographer reads it, it wounds like they are just telling you a story from their past.
I particular liked the stories of Howard Cosell.
I enjoyed the book but I just wish in retrospect that there were more stories about different people and circumstances. Sure, there were some of those but there was a lot of recounting of different sporting events too. I was amazed at Al's recollection of sporting events with specific details.
I do recommend this book to anyone interested in Al Michaels.
I just got done listening to the audiobook. This book is long which required a devotion to getting it done. If you are a big Paul McCartney fan, you will find this book is worth the listen. It's very good and gives good insight to the man and his character, some good and some not so good. The narrator did a good job of telling the story and doing imitations of Paul McCartney speaking.
I highly recommend this book.
Yes, i would listen to The System again. It was very interesting and I might pick up more the second time.
the stories about some of the well-known coaches.
Yes. It was very spell binding most of the time. I couldn't wait for the next chapter.
Anyone interested in college football or college sports is going to like this book.
Getting a real inside look into the stories of Connor career and life.
Connors of course. Beyond that, maybe Nastase.
Rich Orlow was excellent. I was disappointed at first that the author didn't read the book but after about five minute, Mr. Orlow make you forget it is not Jimmy Connors. He sounds like a cross between Connors and Charlie Sheen.
Truman of course
Runger did a good job on the voices of Roosevelt and Churchill
I'm not finished with the book yet but the book is very good and I highly recommend it.
