His memory is blank. He only knows that he was flushed out of the Mediterranean Sea, his body riddled with bullets. There are a few clues. A frame of microfilm surgically implanted beneath the flesh of his hip. Evidence that plastic surgery has altered his face. Strange things that he says in his delirium -- maybe code words. Initials: "J.B." And a number on the film negative that leads to a Swiss bank account, a fortune of four million dollars, and, at last, a name: Jason Bourne.

    P. Shuart says: "Robert Ludlum's Attention to Detail A++"
    "Will always be a favorite"
    Overall

I loved the movie when it came out, but when i read the series i was hooked and amazed by how in depth it is. Not many of Ludlum's books get my attention as this series (first 3) have. The audiobook didnt disappoint. Scott Brick will be a favorite reader of mine forever, the story is engaging, is not overbearing, and for once the hero can get hurt.
    completely worth it

Here is the novel that will be forever considered a triumph of the imagination. Set on the desert planet Arrakis, Dune is the story of the boy Paul Atreides, who would become the mysterious man known as Maud'dib. He would avenge the traitorous plot against his noble family and would bring to fruition humankind's most ancient and unattainable dream.

What made the experience of listening to Dune the most enjoyable?

I love Dune...listened to it and read it a couple dozen times. i bought this version to replace my copy that only had Scott Brick as the narrator as i was curious of how the other readers would at to it.Honestly, it was deplorable...there was no pattern to who was reading what character, they would switch mid-way through a scene and i would have to figure who's voice is which character all over again. Frankly they sucked at putting emotion and inflection into the character's lines.Scott Brick only recording is amazing as he never changes voices for anyone and he does a wonderful job at putting in emotion to his characters..

Would you be willing to try another one of the narrators’s performances?

I will always look for Scott Brick for a narrator

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No...because of the narration from the other people my enjoyment of this book was far less than ever before.

Why we think it’s a great listen: How do you one-up a book that’s already a global literary phenomenon? Hire Simon Vance to (flawlessly) interpret the loves, lives, and murders of Sweden’s cold and secret-filled world. A spellbinding amalgam of murder mystery, family saga, love story, and financial intrigue. It's about the disappearance 40 years ago of Harriet Vanger, a young scion of one of the wealthiest families in Sweden.

Pamela Murphy says: "COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN"
    "Different, but great"
    Overall

I didnt fully know what to expect from this book. my only hints from a friend were "dragon tattoo chick, hacker, big story." thats to light for this book. i didnt like the amount of cursing that was in the book, but let's face it, the whole world swears and we cant avoid it. Other than that, very interesting characters, twisting storyline, some messed up events that are easily within the human ability, and lots of subterfuge (after a fashion). worth it book for those who can get into it. may be a hit and miss

A tour-de-force novel set in ancient Japan filled with passion, fantasy, and feuding warlords. The first volume in the highly anticipated Tales of the Otori trilogy.

Jody R. Nathan says: "Wonderful epic story"
    "great new author"

i was curious because of the high proportion of high reviews for this book. They are not misplaced. The story is indepth, full of emotion, action, is well thought out, and has some new concepts that are really refreshing. no doubt i will be buying the rest of the series as i really love the story and world that Hearn has created
