I absolutely love this book. It has it all: angst, love, tears, humor. It is a definite re-read/re-listen for me.
I had heard so much about this book, and I have to say that I was a little underwhelmed. While I thought that it was good, I felt that the story kept stalling while intricate DNA and historcal references were explained. It was totally "put-down-able." I also felt that the romance deserved a little attention.
This was so much more than I ever expected. Growing up I always wanted to live in the world of the movie Gone with the Wind. This book fleshes out and explains the why behind what happened in the movie. There was also a history lesson interwoven in the story. I enjoyed it thoroughly. It was well worth the 49+ hours.
Another fantastic installment in the Midnight Breed series. The narrator is fantastic as always and Lara Adrian hit it out of the ballpark again.
The narrarator for this was beyond annoying. The breathy talking was irritating and distracting. While the story was great, I really hope to never have to listen to this narrarator again.
I won't be reading (listening) to any other books by this author. The main character said "God's blood" repeatedly....irritatingly so. The book moved at a snails pace and was underwhelming in the end.
I loved this series as a whole, but this book bothered me in that it is character assassination for Katniss. She was just so whiny in this book, that it irritated me. It is worth the read though, and other than that part it is fast paced and well written like the other two books in the series.
I do not understand what the big deal with this series is all about. Everyone keeps telling me that once you get past the first part of the book, then you will like it. My question is...who can get past the first part of the book??? It is beyond boring. The narrator is monotone. If you you are having problems with insomnia, then just listen to this and you will be asleep in no time.
I truly believe that this is one of the best book series of all time and this book really kicks everything off. The book is a one dayer for me in that I couldn't put it down and read it straight through. I think that everyone should read this book and the others in the series.
