The author managed to write an entertaining doozy of a story while still being plausible. Psychological insights were deep and characters fascinating. I didn't want the book to end.

Entire story was both dramatic and believable -- a combination rarely achieved in mystery novels. Pieces of the puzzle got solved throughout the book which was satisfying while continuing to keep the mystery going. The side stories were so interesting I didn't feel frustrated that there were digressions from the main mystery as I so often do.

He made the story come alive without being so full of emotion that the listener felt distracted.

The book was riddled with them.

Although the book was long and completely satisfying in it's ending I didn't want it to stop. I look forward to her next book.

Pointing out that what's experienced in childhood (in her case celebrity) becomes normal.

Since the author reads the book herself it feels like she's telling you HER story. Plus, unlike some authors who read their own books, she's an actress so is able to do it well.

I've always enjoyed Lescroart's books -- but this one is at the top of my list. All the characters are interestingly and insightfuly developed. The author's portrayal of a psychopathic/narcissistic character is especially well written.

The story was highly entertaining. Insightful dialgue showed accurate picture of the abusive relationship. Lescroart also managed to accomplish what few writers can -- a gripping read but still highly plausible.

A highly entertaining and intelligent read. The underlying theme regarding the guilt one often feels if one has caused an accident was particularly insightful and could be useful to someone dealing with such issues.

I am a big fan of Greg Iles so was surprised to find myself irritated with the story and the reader. The story alternated between boring and depressing. The reader kept over-pronouncing certain letters and it was distracting (e.g. kept was read kep T).

The book was a gem. Gripping and intelligent throughout. As a therapist, I especially appreciated the depth of understanding the author has of sexual abuse and the impact on it's victims.
