Many, many driveway moments in this book. You absolutely must have read the prior two books to understand this book but if you have you will find it very satisfying. The narration is top notch and I am sorry to see the trilogy end.
I have listened to and loved Avenger, The Afghan, and The Odessa File. The Kill LIst, while entertaining, is not Mr. Forsyth's best. The story starts out great and , like his other books, the suspense builds up and does hold your attention. The narrator did do a good job.
My biggest complaint is that with 30 minutes of listening to go, there were a lot of loose ends that needed to be tied up and this was done rather hastily.
Contrast this with Avenger which has a totally satisfying ending and you will see what this book lacks.
I have to admit that I was drawn to this story because Dennis B is one of my favorite narrators. Finder's story plays well into Dennis's strengths as a narrator. The story is definitely fast paced ..filled with driveway moments. If you are listening on the freeway, you would give serious consideration to driving a few miles out of your way to get in extra minutes of listening. I enjoyed the industry backdrop that Finder chose for this story. If you are looking for a fun 8 hours of listening, you cannot go wrong with this one.
I know when I enjoyed a book when it ends way before I wanted it to end. This was a well crafted story and the narration was spot on. I was not familiar with Mr. Ballerini prior to this listening(since I don't watch much television) and I thought that his interpretation of the characters added to what was already a very clever story with well developed characters. I concur with the listeners who likened the story to those written by Carl Hiassen. I thank those listeners whose reviews convinced me that this was a good next book to listen to and this is my attempt to pay it forward
To a great extent yes.smith does a good job of moving the plot along and throws in just the right amount of twists. There were plent of driveway moments
The narration fits the story perfectly. He is a pleasure to listen to in the same way as it was listening to Simon Vance reading the milennium trilogy-you savor every moment and you don't want the story to end .the 13 hours goes by quickly
The narration is top notch and the story ...while a difficult listen at times..always was compelling. I found myself sitting in the driveway way too long not wanting to leave the story.
