Rob Inglis narration of this beautiful series ,with it's richly imagined characters and places ,the poetry, the songs, left me wishing for more. If you have only seen the movies this series is a must read,or in this case even better ,narrated with such skill the story becomes even more vivid.
Electrifying performance of a audio book that had me laughing ,crying, and exultant at the saga of women who struggled to break free of a life that seemed to be an unbreakable destiny. Do not miss this one.
It is rare to have an author continue another authors series , and capture the characters and feel of place and time with such perfection. But to do it and add her own flavor to the story is a miracle. I have been to the four corners area many times, the descriptions of the land ,the sounds, took me there again. I hope there will be another book soon! What a lovely book filled with a deeper look at the complex feelings of all my favorite people in the Chee and Leaphorn series. The performance by Christina Delaine caught all the flavor of the players in a moving and sometimes intense story.
Will not spoil with anything except to say when do we get a continuation of the series!
Narration is very well performed, with great voice variation between players. Keeps a good story moving with excitement that is not over played.
Well performed, at times riveting story. Left me wanting the next book. .the world the story is set in, is well developed and believable, with enough characters to make it real.
Always enjoy stories about Valdemar. This one carries forward interesting characters into adventures in lands of new frontiers ,people, and places. Have ordered book two in the series.
What a treat to have this read by the actor who portrays the character of Poirot in the TV series and film of Murder on the Orient Express. His performance is masterful.
very much enjoyed the narration of William Dufris. He manages to get the arrogance of the ruling classes by tone of voice perfectly. will be buying more titles in this series.
The horror and carnage of world war I is depicted in a way that brings it to a very personal level. The impact on the daily lives of all strata of British life and how they tried to cope with privation and loss is wrenching. Toss this all together with a wicked stepmother, two nasty stepsisters, and a cruelly treated stepchild. Then add magic good and sinister, a handsome young man and you have a whopping good story!
Michelle Ford's wonderful narration brings this story of good and evil and a clash of cultures and their ridged lack of acceptance of strange new ideas. It is a story of overcoming adversity, delightful animal helpers, and staunch old and new friends.Throw in magic, what more could you want. I could barely put it down.
