Crystal methamphetamine is widely considered to be the most dangerous drug in the world, and nowhere is that more true than in the small towns of the American heartland. Methland tells the story of Oelwein, Iowa (pop. 6,159), which, like thousands of other small towns across the country, has been left in the dust by the consolidation of the agricultural industry, a depressed local economy, and an out-migration of people.

    Sean says: "Interesting, then not."
    "INTERESTING"
    Overall

THIS BOOK WAS BETTER THAN I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE. I LISTENED TO IT TWICE.
I'M A FIRM BELIEVER THAT DRUGS ARE A MEDICAL PROBLEM AND SHOULD BE MADE LEGAL. MONEY NEEDS TO BE SPENT ON EDUCATION AND REHAB.THIS BOOK MADE ME REALIZE HOW VERY COMPLEX THE DRUG PROBLEM IS.

In 1989 Ken Follett astonished the literary world with The Pillars of the Earth, set in 12th-century England. Readers and listeners ever since have hoped for a sequel. At last, here it is. Although the two novels may be listened to in any order, World Without End also takes place in Kingsbridge, two centuries after the townspeople finished building their exquisite Gothic cathedral. The cathedral is again at the center of a web of love and hate, greed and pride, ambition and revenge.

Laura says: "Repetitive, but still enjoyable"
    "WILL THERE BE A THIRED???"
    Overall

I HATED FOR THIS BOOK TO END. IT IS LONG BUT I THINK THAT IS PART OF WHAT I ENJOYED. YOU GET TO SEE HOW ALL THE CHARACTERS EVOLVE, ALSO I LEARNED HOW HARD EVERYDAY LIFE WAS FOR THEM. I'M 75 AND THEY WERE CONSIDERED OLD IN THERE LATE 50'S!
I'M HOPING THERE WILL BE A THIRED BOOK.

Lisbeth Salander—the heart of Larsson’s two previous novels—lies in critical condition, a bullet wound to her head, in the intensive care unit of a Swedish city hospital. She’s fighting for her life in more ways than one: if and when she recovers, she’ll be taken back to Stockholm to stand trial for three murders. With the help of her friend, journalist Mikael Blomkvist, she will not only have to prove her innocence, but also identify and denounce those in authority.

    B.J. says: "Perfect."
    "EXCELLENT"

I HAVE LISTENED TO ALL THREE OF STIEG LARSSON BOOKS. I LOVED EACH ONE. HOW SAD THAT THIS IS THE END.
