Thirteen-year-old Emily Houchens doesn’t have many friends; her classmates find her strange. When one day she happens upon a dead body hidden in the woods near her house in Roma, Kentucky, she decides not to tell anyone about her discovery - a choice that begins to haunt her. Susanna Mitchell has always been a good girl, the dutiful daughter and wife. While her older sister, Ronnie, trolled bars for men and came home late, Susanna kept a neat house, a respectable job, and a young daughter.

Would you listen to The Next Time You See Me again? Why?

Yes, the characters were less than stellar people but the author did an amazing job of making you want to learn more about the cast.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Ironically the killer is the one character I liked. He had more depth than the others.

    Which scene was your favorite?

The scene at the end with the brother finding the dog. It was the silver lining in a grey book.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

    yes- I laughed and cried.

What did you like best about The Secret History? What did you like least?

I liked the description of New England and what it would appear like from an outsiders perspective. I hated Bunny....especially later in the book when they talk about his traits and how likeable he was. Yuck.

What did you like best about this story?

The story and how it unfolds and pulls the reader in.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

Her voice wasn't my favorite but I didn't hate it like other listeners.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

    yes
