If you have listened or read to Lee Child's books, you wait impatiently for the next book to come out.

They are unpredictible, captivating and exciting. This one, "Bad Luck and Trouble" ranks right up there with his earlier book "Killing Floor".

I think you will like this one.

George Orwell depicts a gray, totalitarian world dominated by Big Brother and its vast network of agents, including the Thought Police - a world in which news is manufactured according to the authorities' will and people live tepid lives by rote. Winston Smith, a hero with no heroic qualities, longs only for truth and decency. But living in a social system in which privacy does not exist and where those with unorthodox ideas are brainwashed or put to death, he knows there is no hope for him.

What disappointed you about Loki's Daughters?

The reader is good, but that's about all. The story is predictable from the start. The childish, hyped-up emotions wear thin. There is no subtlety in the story. The premises are weak and the conflict manufactured.
I have read and listened to many books, and this one ranks right down near the bottom.

What was most disappointing about Delle Jacobs’s story?

The story line is weak and boring. I found that I could skip two chapters and never miss a beat. I would listen for a while and skip a couple of chapters. That helped. This is a book that could have been told in two hours.

What about Sarah Coomes’s performance did you like?

I liked her emotion and ability to make the story better.

What character would you cut from Loki's Daughters?

    You wouldn't like my answer.

In this stunning new book, Malcolm Gladwell takes us on an intellectual journey through the world of "outliers"--the best and the brightest, the most famous and the most successful. He asks the question: what makes high-achievers different? His answer is that we pay too much attention to what successful people are like, and too little attention to where they are from: that is, their culture, their family, their generation, and the idiosyncratic experiences of their upbringing.
