In Los Angeles in 1988, a 16-year-old girl disappeared from her home and was later found dead of a gunshot wound to the chest. The death appeared at first to be a suicide, but some of the evidence contradicted that scenario, and detectives came to believe this was in fact a murder. Despite a by-the-book investigation, no one was ever charged.

    "Good Writing, Well Narrated"
    Overall

Enjoyed the quality of the writing by a genuine first class author, read excellently. We were captivated by the plot. However we were upset by the profane language used at times in the novel.

At last, one of the world’s greatest works of science fiction is available - just as author Stanislaw Lem intended it. To mark the 50th anniversary of the publication of Solaris, Audible, in cooperation with the Lem Estate, has commissioned a brand-new translation - complete for the first time, and the first ever directly from the original Polish to English. Beautifully narrated by Alessandro Juliani (Battlestar Galactica), Lem’s provocative novel comes alive for a new generation.

This story rivals Avatar in imaginative quality. I have spent much time enthralled by fantastic word pictures of the planet. Well written and well narrated.

Santa Fe lawyer Ed Eagle fell in love with the seductive Barbara Kennerly, and married her, against his better judgment. He should have listened to his intuition. Ed awakens on the morning after his 40th birthday to find that Barbara has vanished, and Ed's money from his business, his bank, and his brokerage accounts has been wired to the Cayman Islands.

    "Too much sex"
    Overall

I started to enjoy a well-written and well-narrated story with lots of surprises in the plot but was disappointed by the degree of graphic sex that showed up in the second half.

Standing as one of the most revered works in all of English literature, Great Expectations traces the development of Philip Pirrip, called Pip, from a boy of shallow aspirations to a man of depth and character. Pip is reared by his sister and her husband Joe Gargery, a blacksmith. In his youth he is influenced by the eccentric Miss Havisham, who was jilted on her wedding night and who has brought up her adopted niece Estella to hate men.

John says: "Fully Deserving a 5-Star Rating!"
    "Well-told and Well-Written Story!"
    Overall

Narrator Frederick Davidson made this wonderful story come alive by paying great attention to every one of the characters and speaking in their voice.
