Atlanta would be a nice place to live, if it weren't for the magic. When the magic is up, rogue mages cast their spells and monsters appear, while guns refuse to fire and cars fail to start. But then technology returns, and the magic recedes as unpredictably as it arose, leaving all kinds of paranormal problems in its wake.

First book I've listened to by this Author. Very good story.Kept me interested from start to finish. It's nice to "read" a paranormal story that has more to it than man meets woman, they fight, they have sex, they fight some more then make up and live happily ever after. The story has a nice conclusion while still setting up the next book in the series. The narration leaves something to be desired, a southern voice for a plot based in Atlanta would have been nice.

MacKayla Lane was just a child when she and her sister, Alina, were given up for adoption and banished from Ireland forever. Twenty years later, Alina is dead and Mac has returned to the country that expelled them to hunt her sister’s murderer. But after discovering that she descends from a bloodline both gifted and cursed, Mac is plunged into a secret history: an ancient conflict between humans and immortals who have lived concealed among us for thousands of years.

    "A little rambling"
    Overall

This was an excellent book. After reading the others in this series which all end in cliff hangers I decided to listen to this one. Excellent narration. I gave it only 4 stars because a lot of the book is just the rambling thoughts of the main character. Several times I would be thinking OK get on with it all ready! Overall very good book.
