Great story, love the spy hero types but I hate that it is only offered abridged. You miss so much.
Great book and I'm so glad to see Audible is offering some non mainstream books. Though most books like this aren't very well written, this entire series is. It's a good story, well written and well narrated unlike some of the new books of this type on Audible.
I was really excited when I saw this available because I started reading this book a while back but didn't have time to finish it. But as soon as I started it, I was wondering if I made the right choice.
I don't know if the author is friends with this guy or what but it sounds like he recorded it on a cassette player. Not to mention there is no feeling what so ever in his monotone voice. I am from the south and have an accent so I 'm used to hearing a southern draw, but not in my audio books.
Not no but H*ll no! This guy is terrible
I hope audible starts doing a better job of screening for quality
I am still a Rawles fan, I have listened to Patriots more than once and continue to read his blog. I just wasn't impressed with this one and I hope he really steps it up for the next one.
I understand he is a Christian and I respect that, but I wish he didn't have to throw it in every chapter.
I am not at all a Dick Hill fan. He narrated Rawles' other two books and did a poor job on those also. His accents are terrible.
This book didn't have anywhere near the information Patriots did.
There was very little action until the end. There were to many plots going on at the same time, and none were very interesting. Over all it was boring. I have turned of books of the same caliber
Watch the movie. I like Krakauer but he used to much of what is supposed to be Chris's story to tell his own. Watch the movie and you won't have to listen to all that.
Nothing, why is this even a question? This isn't supposed to be Krakauer's biography.
The story was ok, some of the characters are pretty cheesy. Maybe with a little practice and when he slows down he will get better.
This book was right up my alley and I can't wait for the sequel, though the narration wasn't hitting on much, he shouldn't have attempted accents. I really liked the story and the way he incorporated real information. I will say some of it went into to much detail (mostly gun descriptions) but I believe he did this for people that don't really know these types of things and are looking to get "prepared".
Spent to much time on building characters, but half way through it got really good. Great story about "the end of the world as we know it".
Great "the end of the world as we know it" book. EMP is a real threat that most people don't even know exists, don't let the intro from Newt scare you away, great listen.
Give me more! If Mitch and Jack Bouer joined forces we would have nothing to worry about.
