When Marilla and Matthew Cuthbert of Green Gables send for a boy orphan to help them out at their farm, they mistakenly get Anne Shirley, a feisty, independent but warm-hearted 11 year-old girl. Fortunately her sunny nature and quirky imagination win the hearts of her reluctant foster parents and everyone in the community. But not a day goes by without some memorable adventure or prank in the tragicomedy of her life.

I have seen the movies of the Anne of green gables since childhood, so I excited to finally read the first book in the series. I was not disappointed. Of course the details of Prince Edward Island and of Green Gables made me want to book a flight right away. Anne was precocious as ever and in the book you saw more of her development into a young lady and the maturity that comes with age. I can't wait to read the other books in the series. and just like my mother shared the movie with me, I will share the book with my children.

Cinder, the cyborg mechanic, returns in the second thrilling installment of the best-selling Lunar Chronicles. She's trying to break out of prison - even though if she succeeds, she'll be the Commonwealth's most wanted fugitive. Halfway around the world, Scarlet Benoit's grandmother is missing. It turns out there are many things Scarlet doesn't know about her grandmother or the grave danger she has lived in her whole life.

I love Cinder. I'm a huge Sci-fi fan so mixing my love for fairy tales and Sci-fi was perfect. Scarlet was just as good as Cinder, more love story than sci-fi. Wolf was dark and intriguing of course but my favorite character ended up being Captain Thorne. He brought much amusement to the story. I do hope the next book has more Cinder, as that is who I read and reread the first book for.

I just finished On Basilisk Station and I thoroughly enjoyed it! I love Honor Harrington and her indomitable character. I can't wait to read the next installment and with the sale I can buy the next two in the series. I was at times dragged down buy the long, specific descriptions and almost gave up of the book in the first three chapters. I kept going and am glad I did because Honor won me over.

I would recommend this book to anyone, especially those who love a great, strong female lead and any science fiction fans.

My killer is out there. And my sister might be next. Two months before I died, my best friend’s brother disappeared. I have no idea where Thayer went or why he left, but I know it’s my fault. I did a lot of horrible things while I was alive, things that made people hate me, maybe even enough to kill me. Desperate to solve my murder, my long-lost twin, Emma, is pretending to be me and unraveling the many mysteries I left behind - my cryptic journal, my tangled love life, the dangerous Lying Game pranks I played.

The third book in the series didn't disappoint. I found that it wasn't as suspenseful as the first two in the series. At this point I just wish there was an ending in sight. I know the 5th book is due out later this year. I probably won't read anymore until I find out if this is the last one. I just want it to end, Unlike Pretty Little Liars, which I read the first eight excitedly, then she ended up coming out with a whole bunch more.

The worst part of being dead is that there’s nothing left to live for. No more kisses. No more secrets. No more gossip. It’s enough to kill a girl all over again. But I’m about to get something no one else does - an encore performance, thanks to Emma, the long-lost twin sister I never even got to meet. Now Emma’s desperate to know what happened to me. And the only way to figure it out is to be me - to slip into my old life and piece it all together. But can she laugh at inside jokes with my best friends?

I started watching the show and was delighted to find out that this was written by Pretty Little Liars author Sara Shepard. I enjoyed the first book and find that it is more interesting than the show. I like the Sutton as a ghost dynamic, watching over Emma's moves. I can't wait to find out who the killer is.

I downloaded this book not knowing what to expect. I had an extra credit and nothing on my wish list. I'm so glad I got it! This was an amazing story about the possibilities of us harming our world beyond repair. In the midst of it is a young lady that still had to deal with puberty, growing up and distancing parents. This was a very refreshing young adult novel.

Why we think it’s a great listen: How do you one-up a book that’s already a global literary phenomenon? Hire Simon Vance to (flawlessly) interpret the loves, lives, and murders of Sweden’s cold and secret-filled world. A spellbinding amalgam of murder mystery, family saga, love story, and financial intrigue. It's about the disappearance 40 years ago of Harriet Vanger, a young scion of one of the wealthiest families in Sweden.

When I heard of the buzz behind this series I had to get the books. As a matter of fact I started my audible account just for this series (the library didn't have it on audio book). The first book in the series did not disappoint! The story and the performance were both outstanding.

I enjoyed my second look into the world of Emma and Sutton. The book was an easy read and left me wanting to read the third in the series. I see that as of now there are 5 books and I have the fear that, like Pretty Little Liars, this series will never end. I love a good series but I also like to see the end. Fun little youth novel and will be downloading the third next.

I have to admit that it took me a while to finish this story. About 4-5 months in total. But I'm glad that I invested the time. I have rarely read stories from international writers (this is my first Japanese) and now I'm excited to read more. I adore science fiction and this had a real life feel to it. So much so that I caught myself on a few occasions checking for two moons. As a fan of 1984, I liked the references and the modern update of the forces that keep a watch out for us.
