The fact that both American and British characters were treated fairly and with great concern for historical accuracy.
He makes the characters come alive. Makes them believable. i once listened to an O'Brian book with a different narrator and stopped after 1 chapter. NO way
of course when the Chesapeake was captured and so many of our country's sailors died.
This type of event could feasibly take place in the future
The pace was great
Tension, drama and emotion
No since I had read all of his other books I knew what I was in for.
Boring. Little difference between characters
The book had nothing to hold my attention. I tried for hours to get into it. No way.
Jack, he is such a larger than life character but with plenty of weaknesses.
Patrick Tull was the finest British narrator EVER!
Yes O'Brian's dry humor and deft dialogue can be listened to over and over.
Actually Jack because he is not super man but a man with many more weaknesses then strengths. Not at all like the heros of today's books.
He is simply the finest narrator possible for this series. I had the misfortune of listening to one of the series wo him and lasted only 2 chapters.
Yes creative but Katness is a big disappointment.
Very creative and the distopian world is very interesting..
I rather watch the movies. At least she does not whine or over analyze as much.
The United States soldier
Not enough material about the epic struggle at the Chosin battle
Yes because the British narrator does a superb job bringing you back in time with excellent accents and inflections.
The doctor. He is the foil that makes it possible for the novice sailor to learn about the majestic uniqueness of a sailing vessel.
I would but would caution them that while it was a classic in its time the ending was unsatisfying.
The title says it all. A Way Station - a portal into the vast universe.
He handled the job well enough. Not spectacularly.
Yes. great concept from the beginning. Author should have had more intrigue with the government. And the alien bunny at the end had no edge, no reality about him.
