  • Queen of Fats: Why Omega-3s Were Removed from the Western Diet and What We Can Do to Replace Them

    • UNABRIDGED (5 hrs and 16 mins)
    • By Susan Allport
    • Narrated By Tavia Gilbert

A nutritional whodunit that takes readers from Greenland to Africa to Israel, The Queen of Fats gives a fascinating account of how we have become deficient in a nutrient that is essential for good health: the fatty acids know as omega-3s.

Eric says: "Eye Opener about fats, weight and health!"
"Eye Opener about fats, weight and health!"

I have listened to Queen of Fats about 3 times already over the last 6 months. It is something that I will keep in my audible library for reference. It was an eye opener to the change of dietary eating over the last century. I see the increased health problems of America along with the increase of girth (weight) despite exercise and diet fads being billion dollar businesses and the government putting their food pyramids, school programs, etc. The food industry has been changing their processing of food in order to have longer shelf life. This change has affected our health. Thank you for the research. Awesome.

  • Influencer: The Power to Change Anything

    • UNABRIDGED (8 hrs and 37 mins)
    • By Kerry Patterson, Joseph Grenny, David Maxfield
    • Narrated By Eric Conger

Everyone wants to be an influencer. We all want to learn how to help ourselves and others change behavior. And yet, in spite of the fact that we routinely attempt to do everything from lose weight to improve quality at work, few of us have more than one or two ideas about how to exert influence. For the first time, Influencer brings together the breakthrough strategies of contemporary influence masters.

Ahmed says: "Not the book for everyone"
    "Great Positive Book!"

I haven't decided yet if I like the way the book is written. It gives you little teasers as it builds its principles. As you continue onto another principle, it gives you a little more of the story. You have to listen to it all pretty much at one time so you don't forget what they were giving you before. Great examples. I highly recommend, especially if you can do the entire listen in a day or two. If you want to be more of an INFLUENCER, then get this and give it a listen; it can change the way you think.

  • The Five Love Languages: The Secret to Love That Lasts

    • UNABRIDGED (4 hrs and 46 mins)
    • By Gary Chapman
    • Narrated By Gary Chapman
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

Dr. Gary Chapman identifies five basic languages of love and then guides couples towards a better understanding of their unique languages of love. Learn to speak and understand your mate's love language, and in no time you will be able to effectively love and truly feel loved in return. Skillful communication is within your grasp!

    Bill Ciocco says: "Highly Recommended"
"Every married person ought to get..."

There are so many marriages that are just getting along but has lost the zing. I am a pastor and highly recommend this book to every married couple. Many people get along great during dating and then the honeymoon period, but then something seems to happen. Dr. Chapman takes us past the romance stage to show how to speak a love language to your mate. What one thing can your partner say or do that definitely shows that they love you. This helps show what your love language is, but is your partner consistently doing this. Our upbringing and influences often develop our love language...not every girl desires flowers or chocolates as the "I Love You" language. Do you know what your mate is desiring of you?

  • The Traveler's Gift: Seven Decisions that Determine Personal Success

    • UNABRIDGED (4 hrs and 26 mins)
    • By Andy Andrews
    • Narrated By Gary Beaty

Much like the best-selling books by Og Mandino, this unique narrative is a blend of entertaining fiction, allegory, and inspiration. Storyteller Andy Andrews gives a front-row seat for one man's journey of a lifetime. David Ponder has lost his job and the will to live.

David says: "Success Formula in Story Format"
"Easy Listening - I Highly Recommend"

I love to listen to this a lot because of the ease of listening along with the good principles included. It is written in a fictional style story that can keep you interested. I had my brother-in-law also get this and he also loved it.

  • 50 Psychology Classics

    • UNABRIDGED (12 hrs and 24 mins)
    • By Tom Butler-Bowdon
    • Narrated By Lloyd James
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

Spanning hundreds of ideas developed over the past century, 50 Psychology Classics also explores important contemporary writings, such as Gladwell's Blink and Seligman's Authentic Happiness. Listeners will gain insight into the scientific research of leading contemporary psychologists, psychiatrists, and neurologists. And they'll discover why we think and act the way we do from the landmark best sellers of psychology.

ESK says: "Good as an overview"
    "A little disappointed."

I am studying psychology in college right now and was a little disappointed with this one. It mainly gives the writer's own opinion about the psychologists and a brief overview of their life and their work (what they are best known for). Does not give any research results and findings. A good book I would recommend is "59 Seconds".

  • 59 Seconds: Think a Little, Change a Lot

    • UNABRIDGED (8 hrs and 18 mins)
    • By Richard Wiseman
    • Narrated By Jonathan Cowley

Richard Wiseman has been troubled by the realization that the self-help industry often promotes exercises that destroy motivation, damage relationships, and reduce creativity: the opposite of everything it promises. Now, in 59 Seconds, he fights back, bringing together the diverse scientific advice that can help you change your life in under a minute, and guides you toward becoming more decisive, more imaginative, more engaged, and altogether more happy.

Paul says: "Wrong format for this book"
    "Fantastic for study"

Great listening. I was glad to hear about the actual studies in which they gave even the placebo group results. Also, I am studying psychology in college right now and this really hits the spot of my interest. I can't even begin to tell you the number of times I have referred to the research results as I talked about everyday things to different people.
