Meet Peter Brown, a young Manhattan emergency room doctor with an unusual past that is just about to catch up with him. His morning begins with the quick disarming of a would-be mugger, followed by a steamy elevator encounter with a sexy young pharmaceutical rep, topped off by a visit with a new patient - and from there Peter's day is going to get a whole lot worse and a whole lot weirder.

    Overall

This book is a testosterone laden pulp thrill ride and you won't believe what happens at the end. I've read the book and listened to the audio and Robert Petkoff's narration is fantastic. Can't wait for him to do more books.

I can't recommend this book and audiobook more!

For the three years Shadow spent in prison, all he wanted was to get back to the loving arms of his wife and stay out of trouble for the rest of his life. But days before his release, he learns that his wife has been killed in an accident, and his world becomes a colder place.

Joseph says: "Amazing, powerful book about America."
    "Interesting story and great narration"
    Overall

I really enjoyed reading this story when it first came out. And I enjoyed it again years later listening to George Guidall's narrative. Mr. Guidall does a fantastic job! He employs several different voices well enough that you will recognize the character based on the sound of his/their voice. And he reads with great passion. Nice job Mr. Guidall!

As for the story, it goes at a deliberate pace and envelops you in its fantastic world where Gods come into existence simply because we believe.
