First off, I loved and was totally enthralled in books 1-3 mostly because the narration of all three books were the same people and great acting. They kept you glued, conscious and focused. The switching from the male perspective to the female was great. Then came the anticipated fourth book and they (for some reason) changed the narration characters....AWFUL! I barely got through the book, the Male narrator was bland, monotone and had no excitement whatsoever then the Female voice was almost intolerable boring especially when she tried to do a males voice OMG!!!
The book itself was good but a bit redundant at times, kind of sporadic and drawn out. Again I really think that changing the narration characters was a grave choice and was disappointing, but nevertheless I had to listen to all 19 hours because I invested so much time in the later books that I needed the conclusion.
Over all I give this book a 3 star.
Possibly but I won't actively look for another one, although I enjoyed several of his other books just not this one.
I definitely will not be if it involves Sam and Reme.
I really enjoy Scott Brick, if I see he has narrated a book I am interested in I will for sure purchase it.
the book seemed disjointed, not thought out and very predictable. Lots of "of course they are" and "saw that coming"
I ended up skipping several chapters just to proceed to the end because I was frustrated and loosing my concentration with the unrealistic adventures of a treasure hunting couple taking life threatening, idiotic risks against ruthless hit men. There infiltrating a Ukrainian mafia lords home (really?) and escaped dozens of highly trained henchmen over and over again and always escaping only to get in another life threatening situation.
Wow! I felt sick after listening to this book. I was refereed this book by Artie Lang of the Howard Stern Show and let me tell you.. I almost didn't make it through....what a waste of time; really, the main character is a real intelligent Dufus. I am so glad to be done with the book, I am one who needs to finish what I start, unfortunatly. I am glad it's over and I do not recommend the book unless you get of with COMPLETE idiocy!... the narration was very good I must say.
This is a wonderful book. I really got sucked into it, I did research at random house publishing and found "sudo" websites that corrolate to the story and realistic blogs which gave me a password to enter a section with secret notes about Splicers. Its so so close to the truth its scary! I now try to live off the grid also. A must read for people who are into martial arts, value there identity privacy and are aware of parallel universes. I cant wait to read the other two books in this trilogy. The Traveler is destined for the MOVIE THEATERS!
