Would you listen to Lost Horizon again? Why?

Yes, Maybe with a different narrator. As stated above it is an intriguing story with some depth to both plot and characters.

What did you like best about this story?

The originality of the plot and the understanding of coming future events when written in early 1930's.

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

The narrator's expression and tonality lacked empathy for the different traits of the characters.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

The compelling human search by us all for our own personal lost utopia.

    Any additional comments?

I loved the ending as it left the reader with the question of the reality of this search as it relates to the characters in the book and also within the readers own life.

Set before and during the great war, Birdsong captures the drama of that era on both a national and a personal scale. It is the story of Stephen, a young Englishman, who arrives in Amiens in 1910. His life goes through a series of traumatic experiences, from the clandestine love affair that tears apart the family with whom he lives, to the unprecedented experiences of the war itself.

Chrissie says: "YES, this is the audiobook you must pick!"

Yes, by the sheer power of the craft of his writing and story.

Which character – as performed by Peter Firth – was your favorite?

The main character whose life was fundamentally shaped by the dramas of love and war

If you could sum up Life of Pi in three words, what would they be?

    Riveting, sensitive, and thought provoking

What was one of the most memorable moments of Life of Pi?

    Training his tiger!

Have you listened to any of Jeff Woodman’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No I have not read any other books narrated by Jeff Woodman, but I will be sure to look in the future!

If you could rename Life of Pi, what would you call it?

I would not rename the book - it is perfect!

    Any additional comments?

Good on audible for engaging a narrator who was so believable as the main character. It makes such a difference to the reader to have a narrator who understands the structure, essence and the character of the book!!
