This second installment which began with The Chosen (Rise of Cithria #1) picks up fairly closely to where the previous book left off. It is, again, a triple dose of the same authors presenting expansions on their previous stories. I am enjoying this series

A well-written Detective/PI story that makes me not able to put the book down. The interaction of the private investigator and the people surrounding the crime makes for such an enjoyable story.

Paul isn’t the only human character we follow in this novel, but he’s the most central to Ludo and her development. He’s the pro-Ludo camp, throwing himself into her adventures and immersing himself in her world.

There are plenty action. I like the mystery of its characters and sci-fi feel. Vorian makes a good protagonist. The narrative does slow down, with more description to it and I have to say I admire this writer for how they seamlessly write in the back story and history of this different world
