"Narrator Terrible"
I can't rate the story because I didn't listen to it. The narrator was so terrible it distracted me from the story and I couldn't pay attention. I was so annoyed as I paid for the credit and the more I tried to pay attention the more annoyed I got. I wasn't going to spend another $9.99 for the ebook and it was my fault for not sampling the narrator like I usually do.
I finally found the book at my local library and put a hold on it. I had read the first book and I know I will like the story so ignore the 1 star for the story. But it wouldn't allow me to leave a review without putting something down. Why do these publishers or authors allow books to be read by narrators that don't do their books justice? I just don't understand.
"So Dissappointed..."
This was the first time I read/listened to a book by Bella Andre. I took a chance based on all the good reviews. I was so disappointed. I could barely find the story in the midst of all the sex scenes. I like reading happy romances and falling in love just as much as the next person. But this story was so improbable. The amount of sex that was had in 3 days. I'm not a prude but I didn't get a chance to like the main charachters. I speed through it to find out what happen with the ex. I'm sad I didn't do what I normally do and just try one book before I bought another in the series. The 5th book was on sale and based on the reviews I took a chance and bought it before the end of the sale. Now I don't see myself listening to it. I'm not sure the narrator helped things. She read so slowly that it dragged things along also. First time a review has failed me.
"ugh the narrator!"
The story was good. But it's so hard not to be destracted by the narrator. I would have rather her just read it with out the southern accents. She kept forgetting who she assigned what voices and kept switching them up. Plus she kept making all the men sound like they were all idiots. What a way to ruin a book. I would have enjoyed it more had it been another narrator or I had read it myself. Such a shame.
"Why?"
Why don't they stick to the same narrators when they do a series??? I can't keep track of the story because the narrator's voice is annoying me so much. She doesn't keep the voices she does straight. I'm so dissappointed.
"ugh"
It is extremely rare that I review a book. And even more when I don't finish one. I got one hour into listening to this book and gave up. If I heard I more curse word. The subjects in just one hour jumped from one to another - I just couldn't follow. The author spent so much time on describing stationery and than jumps to a scene where every other word is a curse. I bought it on sale - and it was so not worth it. On sale items is usually when I try new authors - this time for me it back fired. Win some loose some...
"good book narrator - ugh"
Shame on the publisher - why after the whole series they use one narrator Sandra Burr. Do they go and switch for two of the books? At first I didn't like Sandra thinking she was too mature for the series, but after hearing Andrea ugh - I find myself day dreaming and getting annoyed at her mispronouncing countless words. I'm not even through half the book and I'm angry enough to write the publisher. What a distraction. She can't even keep her character voices straight with in minutes. And some of her female voices sound like she's on the top of her voice range which is like nails on a chalk board. I feel bad criticizing a narrator, but these people are professionals getting paid to do a job and should know from one book to another how to pronounce charachter's names. Never mind how to pronounce regular words. If I hear her pronounce Leaf wrong one more time - no, I can't say it - I've already yelled at her in my car. It's a shame - I know I would have enjoyed this book a lot more if they continued with the other narrator. I'm glad book 8 continues with Sandra.
